Hope everyone is having a good weekend.
We have chosen to go with the "Contemprorary' facade on Majestic35.
However we had certain doubts about small amount of cladding present in the facad (pic attached)
Is it a good idea to replace the small amount of cladding with bricks?
If so any idea on the overhead costs ?
Anyone has done something on the similar lines. Would be helpful if you could throw some light
ThankS

Hi spk_homebuild, we have replaced all of the cladding on our home with brick, including the cladding at the back of the house. The cost will depend on the bricks that you use. Our brick was also an upgrade (or it was at the time of our selections), so the cost will also depend on the brick that you choose. For the front facade our cost was $3,600 and the back was $3,000.
I guess it is a personal preference, I initially wanted the cladding to break up the colours of the front facade but my partner insisted on the bricks as he hates cladding. We are happy with the final result. Ours is the Ambassador 41 with the Savannah Facade (extra windows on the garage side are due to increase in size of garage). We will be getting our garage door on next week so will up load a better photo then Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅
I usually love cladding but surprisingly I think the savannah facade looks better without it, your house looks great!
If I had my time again I would budget for replacing the fibre cement sheeting at the back of the house with stria cladding. I didn't realise that's what they did until we received our first set of plans and by then we had other priorities. I think it looks cheap (well it is lol)
Thanks MandM+4, congrats on moving forward, really looking forward to how yours comes together! We are happy with how the facade turned out, the Garage door went on today but haven't had a chance to see it. The only thing I am not happy with is the front door....looks like we might be sanding and restaining it after. We were going for a similar look to the Savannah displayed which has a darker garage with lighter door. The consultant said it was just clear stain but I wishI had got a slightly darker stain (to be honest I didn't give that part of selections enough attention). The display had a render around the door which I think makes the difference.
