Drove by today and the boys were having lunch, so I got them some coffee and waters and we had a good long chat. It really is like dealing with a different company when you're in construction! They were so forthcoming with info.. understood my frustration at admin and said they hear it all the time but that we wouldn't be let down on quality. They also took me around the house and showed me their work and explained everything down to how the windows would go in and the next steps. All has gone really smoothly for them apparently which is great news. Because it's a big house it will take just over a week to finish, so they'll be done on Monday. Their truck was blocking the front of the house so I couldn't manage to get a front on pic, but took one looking in from the front door.
And check out the second pic - not sure if any of you in construction have had these installed, but they're no longer using timber joists for the second floor. They used to outsource the timber joists, but their frame company is now fabricating their own steel joists (the green zig zag joists) so they are using these now. Apparently they are stronger and more durable. I'll take some more front on pics when I go by on the weekend.
Can't believe it's finally taking shape!!
