Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 2250Aug 03, 2016 6:39 pm We also did a KDR frustratingly for us we moved out in Sept last yr, the Wisdom recommended demo guy who we had nothing but issues with (guaranteed he would start the last week in Sept didn't start till the last week in Oct & then we had to pay an extra 4k as he didn't clear the site properly) and Wisdom didn't to the peg out till the last week in Jan. So it was 5 months after we moved out that any construction started (a still cry at night with the rent we have wasted). If they don't finish soon we will have been renting for 12 mths before we move back in. Oh the joy of KDR's! We also went with the guy Wisdom recommended and have never dealt with anyone so unprofessional. They started demolishing the house and took out all the windows and doors before even putting up a fence. So we had a house open to whoever wanted to walk in with exposed asbestos and services that had not yet been cut. And it ended up costing us double as much as they found asbestos 'hidden' behind the walls that was apparently a surprise to them. We have also enrolled our kids in a new school for next year (we are not living where we're building) and now we'll probably end up having to commute for a whole term! Excuse the rant.. The delays we have experienced have just really stuffed us around as they have the many others. Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 2252Aug 03, 2016 7:48 pm Ahh our problems are looking pretty small compared to you guys!!! Well sometimes a little vent and an outlet of support from others in the same boat can help a lot! Oddly Comforting to know its not just us getting stuffed around ❤️ Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 2253Aug 03, 2016 7:55 pm The only piece of info that can sort of help us to comfort ourself is most of the builders out there, if not all, have these issues. Probably would have been in a simmilar situation. (Fighting hard to convince myself our decision of going with Wisdom was not the worst decision ever). Building Washington 29, Avanti Facade. Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 2254Aug 03, 2016 8:38 pm Yes that added to our frustration, our son started school this year and we thought we would be well and truly in by then as we had signed up in June 14. We have to commute (our house is 2 streets from the school and we are currently living around 8k away - so our 10 min walk is either a 15-40min drive. The demo guy arranged for the electrician to remove our meter box without our permission and we have had huge drama's with the electrical company as he didn't hand the meter in (we hadn't signed the forms) so we had estimated bills for another 6 mths after we moved out that we have been fighting. He was truly the most incompetent guy i have come across. They don't recommend him anymore surprise surprise. If anyone wants to do so, PM me I will share his email address. He needs to be aware about customers frustration and disappointment caused by his company. After all someone should be responsible for damage control Can someone please offer some advice? Im DESPERATE. Because I'm completely and utterly exhausted.
