Although at present we are caught up in Admin awaiting for changes to this tender to be made - slow progress there...... We have been advised by salesperson that the appointments will be scheduled once these tender /plan changes have been made. I do have a suspicion that Head Office will try and make us sign the contract and pay the 5% before scheduling these appointments, which we will resist all we can. Would prefer to at least have knowledge of kitchen, tile and flooring upgrades before committing to the contract. There is a overwhelming wealth of knowledge and information on these forums, which is taking some time to get through, but very helpful in the process. We were hoping that we could ask a few direct questions in relation in relation to some upgrades (from the Prestige inclusions) that people may have all ready done. Caeserstone benches 1. Can anyone provide an approximate cost to upgrade from the standard included range to the Deluxe, Premium & Supernatural ranges (40mm benches included in the Prestige range now) 2. Are there additional charges by Wisdom to use different Caeserstones in the Kitchen, Laundry and Bathrooms? Our preference would be to have the Kitchen & Laundry the same (in the Supernatural range) and the Bathrooms to be the same (in the Deluxe Range) Thanks in advance for your time and comments. Regards, Oz. Can't do that. Why would they allow you to have appointments when you haven't signed on. What you do is add allowances to the contract for various upgrades such as kitchen/flooring etc, say 10K extra for Kitchen, 15K for flooring etc. 1. Sorry can't answer this, would depend on the kitchen design anyway. 2. Yes. As a rule of thumb there will be an additional charge for every change you make. One for kitchen, other for bathrooms/laundry. Same for laminate. If you wish to change this, expect to open your wallet. Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 1706Apr 13, 2016 11:48 am THX Butts Well I haven't been posting hardly anything, but now I can at least say "Completed!". Couple of pictures, no landscaping as I'm doing it myself. One thing I found out this morning, and WISH I'D known about it before, couldn't get Optus cable cable connected!! They require HFC, and I have the house pre-wired cat6!! So have to get an electrician out to run HFC into the house and a 30mm conduit to enable them to hook it up. Really annoyed as the house is completed, very happy, but now I have to have "re-work" done!! I know its my problem, but wish I'd had the HEADS up prior to this. This makes no sense. It is irrelevant how your house is or is not wired up. THX, its to do with the Optus Cable network, they use HFC. HFC into the house, router, then CAT6 throughout the house. Doing my head in, as I'm trying to work out the best solution but most cost effective one. If I went Telstra, I could with the existing setup, but with NO Foxtel as it needs HFC as well. Anyway, let you know how I go........first and hopefully the last issue I have prior to moving in. Have been hearing that Wisdom HO have been tried to implement changes this year to speed up the Admin side of things, and one of these is to schedule appointments before Contracts are signed. They now ask for $5k once tender is accepted (after paying the $1k to have the tender drawn up), and begin to schedule the appointments. My appointments are held up (so I've been told) because of changes we've made to the tender. I guess we'll see what happens. I have PA's in the tender for these extras, so if contract needs to be signed off before we progress any further, then there's not too much downside other than having the fixed cost in place before signing. Not a deal breaker that's for sure. Understand re kitchen design impacts on amount of stone required. Again, exact costings will be known at Kitchen appointment - all good. I'm sure the builder doesn't miss anyone wanting to make changes to their masterplans.... We'll try contacting the suppliers to see if they are helpful before the appointments. I understand that changes to the kitchen design will impact on exact costs (based on amount of stone required), but was just hopeful off a rough idea of the step up in grades before walking headfirst into the appointments. Thanks for the two colours tip. Appreciate it. Their admin is dreadfully slow so any improvement to that is a good thing. If you're like most of us, you will be getting variations on things you add or delete till your drowning in paperwork - just the way it is, generous PA's are good and give you some kind of budget to work within but you'll likely go over your budget regardless. For my kitchen there was an upgrade charge for picking a better colour caesarstone of $621 (it was already 40mm) and waterfall edge on one side cost me $954. The upgrade charge for wet areas for the better colour was approx $45-75 per room(e.g. bathroom/ensuite/laundry/wc) Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 1712Apr 13, 2016 12:19 pm THX I know they use HFC but that is irrelevant to how your house is wired up. We are talking about both Internet and TV combined. The HFC connection is usually arranged by Optus/Telstra. It's usually an overhead connection. If you require it to be underground you'll need to discuss it with Optus as to what requirements (if any) they need to be met prior to doing this. I'd say at least a conduit from house to your private pole. Which isn't all that difficult. Pick up a shovel and go for gold. If you wanted rooms prewired for Optus/Foxtel then yes you have not done that (let's ignore what you can transmit over cat6 for now) but you'll just pay them to add a connection/set top box to whatever rooms you want. I can foresee our Kitchen costs spiralling as well, and also have to include the Butler's Pantry in additional costs. Actually there's a question I don't think we've asked the tender presenter, is the stone bench cost included where there is a Butler's Pantry shown on the standard Masterplan or is this an additional cost? (However most of their cablers are lazy and will want to install it on an external wall)From there you can run your cat6 to where ever you need it. Your router doesn't need to be in the same location as the cable modem. But I believe the new Optus cable modems are also a router, but you can disable this and use your own router elsewhere in the house.
