Day 1 would be colours, tile, kitchen and aircon Day 2 would be electricals, landscaping. What took me by surprise was, they said I will need to sign the contract and pay the 5% deposit after Day 1 appointment and then they will proceed to Day 2 appointment. I was of the impression that they would complete all appointments and then would give a contract with cost inclusive of all selections to sign. Have you all been through this same process ? Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 1537Feb 03, 2016 2:43 pm Simham, I was told the other day by our Tender presenter that we would sign contract and then our appointments will be scheduled. Sounds like everyone has had a different experience with regards to the order everything has occured. Building Wisdom Homes Serenity 31 Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 1539Feb 03, 2016 5:14 pm Kirst10 Was it easy to get your appointments booked? By easy, I mean were you able to get in fairly quickly? As soon as we can I want to get in and get them booked - first available kind of thing. We are building the Serenity 31 in North Richmond and are really hoping we can be in by Christmas this year... Yes it is, the moment you sign the contract they're very proactive about getting appointments booked and done to move the admin process along. It looks like something they've improved in the 2nd half of 2015. If you can get a solid block of time off work then it would be a matter of booking it in 2 weeks after contract signing and you could get through it all in 2-3 days if you know everything you want up front. We dragged our feet a bit because it was tough to get time off work and I was simultaneously organising a demo which was a huge time sink in itself, then Christmas came up. But it's all done now All I got to do is get my build inspectors ready for the construction stage. You may just want to check yours as colours are usually done with landscape and electrical at day 2 since this is all done in the same location. You won't be able to fit in kitchen and tile and colours in the one day. We had our Day 1, paid the 5% then Day 2 were scheduled. Variations are raised after these appointments for all your upgrades so they won't be included in your fixed price tender which is what you pay your 5% on. Only provisional allowances are included if you have added any. Kirst, after this it was very quick to get the appointments scheduled but like shouldabeenstradie said you need to allocate 2 full days during the week. We had our A/C appointment over the phone to save time. If you have a staircase this is another appointment again but on request only if you want any variations to their existing staircase upgrades. We ended up having one as we wanted a modified version of what was on display. That was a quick appointment at Prestons. I have a question for those doing a knock down/rebuild - how long did it take for you to get council approval? We were so quick with signing contracts and scheduling appointments but now we're waiting for our hydraulics plan before submission to council and it seems to be taking forever! We have only received one email from admin at the beginning outlining the next steps but nothing since. Should I keep pushing? Can someone please offer some advice? Im DESPERATE. Because I'm completely and utterly exhausted. How long are variations taking with other companies at the moment?
