Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 441Feb 11, 2015 4:12 pm Hi All, Just a recap on yesterday. We completed our Landscape and Internal/External Colours at MHC. It's funny how you heading these things with a clear idea of what you want, then they throw the colour pallette at you We started off with our Landscape appointment. They basically showed us the requirements to pass CDC and to meet the design guidelines of SCR. Looking forward to seeing the itemized quote. Most likely putting the landscaping voucher towards the driveway. Our Colours appointment was fun. We settled on Austral Pepper for our bricks, matched with Bristile Prestige Smooth Roof Tiles in Tungsten. The Colorbond materials and window frames will be Monument (going for the dark theme on the exterior). Interior colours, well... Went with the 2nd colour for the timber architraves and skirting. These will match the ceiling in Crisp White. If you ask me, I would've gone Crisp White everything and saved the $600. My Fiance wanted to go with a subtle off white/grey/silver for the walls and that's where 'High Reaches' came. I will say this though, I am amazed at how the colours change with different lighting. Best example of this was when we pass Di Lorenzo yesterday arvo to do some homework. Placing our colour card over the top of the tiles we wanted showed a striking contrast from cold to warm. I'm sure I'm not the only one who's come across this phenomenon. What have you guys done? I'm starting to think we should choose our tiles colours before our walls as you can always paint over it in the long run. John Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 442Feb 11, 2015 8:41 pm I went up to our block tonight and we've been pegged Now to show my ignorance.... I thought the pegs were on the corners of the actual house. I take it they mark where it needs to be scraped instead. Please enlighten me if I am wrong Building a Wisdom Majestic 40 at Gardener's Ridge My blog: http://majestic40atgardenersridge.wordpress.com/ Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 444Feb 12, 2015 8:10 pm Hi we have also been pegged Question 4 all We are just getting wisdom landscapes 2 do the driveway and scrapping the land. Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 448Feb 14, 2015 12:04 pm Hi Everyone I stumbled onto this forum a little while ago, the information has been very helpful. I am currently building with Wisdom the Serenity 26 at the Vermont Estate at Pitt Town. I signed off on my end panel last week (that was an effort to get there)! Like the rest of you I also on the first one found errors. I am now awaiting my construction plans to be drawn. I have pegs on my block and are looking forward to finally reaching the construction phase. The administration phase certainly has been a long slow process......Hopefully soon there will be some site works. Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 449Feb 14, 2015 12:40 pm Hi Cag and welcome! We are at exactly the same stage as you. Signed off our draft end panel, pegged and waiting on the construction plans - available this coming Tuesday we've been told. Here's hoping! Unfortunately there are errors the main one being Wisdom changing the fireplace construction unexpectedly. Hopefully this can get resolved but I'm not having much luck getting through no answer to my emails or phone calls End Panel to follow in a few days. In my quote for the driveway and crossover they had "Traffic control for crossover" valued $1500. When I questioned WH apologized and removed saying it is not needed. I am not pointing it is intentional but go through all the paperwork with 2 set of eyes. Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 455Feb 19, 2015 8:11 am Hi all! We accepted our tender from Wisdom to build the Ambassador 41 last week. It's been taking a while as we asked for couple of extras and floor plan changes to be included in the tender. It was between Metricon and Wisdom but we really loved that wisdom was a bit more flexible on the facades. We are taking the modern with balcony on the garage but will change it quite a bit so we don't have the squares in front. I understand we should have the plans in 4-5 weeks... How long did it take you from accepting a tender to having a slab down? Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 459Feb 19, 2015 9:46 am Hi Carix, We accepted our Tender on 1st June 2014 and we are in the final stages of Admin. Hoping to receive our corrected Construction plans back today. Hi K3nnis, We are having a split level design with Wisdom as our slope was greater than we realised. It is not a cheap option, however I don't know what other builders would charge. We only discovered the need once our land had registered and we were already committed to build with Wisdom. Our design, the Majestic, works really well with a split level luckily as we love the design of it.
