Extreme - maybe u can sort mine out for me when our build is underway and tell me what the go is lol. wayyy too complex for hubby and I. Matt - any pics of your build? What matt's saying is that the advice clipsal give at the initial appointments is wrong. the indoor nbn box can be placed anywhere in the house, according to the regulations, however wisdoms policy is to only place it on the garage wall. Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 368Jan 28, 2015 8:12 pm Clipsal told us that part of the NBN had to be on an external wall and that normally the internal bit (those are technical terms, I couldn't be bothered looking into it in detail at the time) went right next to it. That meant having the modem in the garage which I didn't want. So I got them to spec it so that the internal bit was under the stairs so I can have the modem and a rack in there and then distribute data throughout the house from there. Then I got a call from the SS the other day questioning why I didn't just have the "NBN" under the stairs (and the sparkie in the background said "Clipsal probably told them they had to have it that way"). I don't particularly care where it all goes as long as I can have the modem under the stairs. I visited the site today and it looks like they have run a conduit across the garage to the stairs so hopefully it's all ok. Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 369Jan 28, 2015 8:16 pm Lstr123 Matt - any pics of your build? There's a few external progress pics in the thread in my sig. No internal ones yet. I don't think cabling is very interesting... Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 371Jan 29, 2015 1:05 pm Lstr123 Matt - cant see the link to your build. Im so bad when it comes to these things Lstr123, click on this, should work: http://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=70748 Cheers Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 373Jan 29, 2015 8:39 pm Matt1 wrote: For anyone who hasn't done their electrical yet apparently you don't have to have any part of your NBN in the garage. It can all go under the stairs if you want. Clipsal told us otherwise (and our SS told us this is common) so we paid for conduit so we could have the modem under the stairs (assuming that the NBN point was in the garage). Turns out it wasn't needed. Damm was told the same thing by clipsal doing KDR in the hills. Got novacomm to run the conduit from garage to underneath the staircase. Will check with SS just getting the final draft panel completed now hopefully start soon. Clipsal refused to do it. Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 374Jan 30, 2015 1:48 pm I'm pleased to report that we have just signed off our Draft End Panel. Unfortunately there were a few errors but the third attempt was A OK. The holiday weekend slowed things down but its all good now. Roll on final paperwork and Construction Plans in 10-15 working days. Here's hoping our bank will accept the signed Draft End Panel for our Letter of Authority to Commence Construction (LACC). We are expecting our construction plans and final end panel today. I'll send off another email soon to chase it up. Hopefully it comes before the weekend, so we have a couple of days to review it all. Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 376Jan 30, 2015 2:27 pm Extreme 3 errors wow. So being Mrs Honest I owned up and up the final figure went by $4+K.... I'm interested Extreme to see if you get your final paperwork in the time frame they give of 10-15 working days since that's what we will be now waiting for.
