Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Home Group WA - Eden Beach Jindalee Build 41Feb 03, 2015 1:52 pm Good to hear from you guys ... yes it has been a while. We're close to keys, they are saying another 5-6 weeks. I'm going to cross my fingers that your build time doesn't end up like ours has .... we are enduring the laughter of neighbours who reckon our house has been the longest build for the street. I think when we get keys it will be 17 months from handing over our block title and saying build us a house. Argh! We had wood floors, then we changed to the HGWA porcelain and we are really happy. We have wood where we are currently and I love it, it's soft underfoot but it does show up marks, it soaks up water and it is just more high maintenance. Re: Home Group WA - Eden Beach Jindalee Build 42Feb 10, 2015 11:09 am argh! when I spoke to Home Group last week regarding our delay they said the slab would be done this week. well I have just got to work and got an email saying it will now be next week! argh! how can it be scheduled for this week on friday and as of tuesday had been moved to next week. getting fed up! this has been a long 15 months and my patience is limited Re: Home Group WA - Eden Beach Jindalee Build 45Feb 17, 2015 3:33 pm conslabulations (as everyone says lol). Nice feeling when you finally see something happening Re: Home Group WA - Eden Beach Jindalee Build 51Feb 18, 2015 10:02 pm Following, looks like a good slab! Re: Home Group WA - Eden Beach Jindalee Build 53Feb 21, 2015 11:07 pm What a beautiful slab, Lauz - Congratulations! Re: Home Group WA - Eden Beach Jindalee Build 54Feb 22, 2015 12:59 am Congratulations Lauz. Glad to hear that the wait for something tangible is finally over. Plans look great and sounds like you've been able to get everything that you were after on your budget other than the Portico which is no real biggie. Looking forward to watching your build develop and hearing how you progress from here. Natalie92 your plans look great too and very similar in some ways, have you got a thread up? We are looking at building in Baldivis too. Re: Home Group WA - Eden Beach Jindalee Build 55Feb 22, 2015 6:33 pm Love the massive WIR and the scullery tucked away neatly with the laundry... great family and entertainer's plan! Re: Home Group WA - Eden Beach Jindalee Build 57Feb 23, 2015 6:11 pm Lauz where are you building bryzza? catalina estate Re: Home Group WA - Eden Beach Jindalee Build 58Feb 24, 2015 11:31 am our big concrete soak wells were installed on Sunday! very impressed with that hahaha. now just to wait for the bricks and brickies super excited!! your plan looks great Natalie love the scullery/laundry combo the scullery was one of my must haves when looking at plans oh great bryzza local aswell Re: Home Group WA - Eden Beach Jindalee Build 59Mar 18, 2015 10:58 am Hi everyone! So we now have bricks on site but no brickies as yet. we have been told 1-2 weeks so fingers crossed! We did come across a problem last night though while going over our plan. somehow in the laundry the bench has not been carried on across the washing machine so it can sit neatly underneath and the taps have been wall mounted instead of in the cupboard! how we missed this i dont know!!!!! our plan was to wall mount our dryer above the washing machine and with the taps on the wall thats not possible and I hate the idea of the washing machine fully visible not hidden underneath the bench I emailed our contact at Home Group thinking we would be able to change it but will obviously have to pay a variation fee which is what we have done with previous builds but no we are not allowed! we cant change it! seeing as we don't have brickwork started yet I don't see why it would be such a big deal if we are willing to pay! has anyone else made changes at this stage???? really disappointed I know we missed it on the plan but in my head I assumed it was automatically like that Re: Home Group WA - Eden Beach Jindalee Build 60Mar 23, 2015 2:28 am Lauz sorry to hear you've been denied the change, I wonder if it is because it involves plumbing? I wonder whether you'd not still be able to mount it above the washing machine, the taps usually aren't that high up the wall? You'd not be able to 'hide' the washing machine, but maybe you can still do that? 4 14407 I built with EB back on 2009.
