It's 'Nomadic Ivory' full strength by Bristol. It is VERY similar to Dulux 'Hogs Bristle', but when the two cards are side by side, Hogs is ever so slightly greener, and mine just a tad warmer. In some pics it does look greenish with the flash that has washed it out. This is probably the closest to the colour in real life...but it's still very hard to get the colour right in a photo. It's also throwing a little bit of pink due to the floorboards...but it doesn't look pink in real life! Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Henley - Wilshire Mk 3 ... I love my house!! We've chosen White Duck Quarter and now i'm scared it's too 'yellow'.... Re: The Story of Stormy's Castle. *Plantation Shutters* 1627Jul 16, 2010 8:38 am Haha, I could have answered the wall colour question had I seen it earlier - I have the name of Stormy's wall colour separately stored on my PC Yep, confessed. Now, the only thing is - how does it compare to Taubman's Moon River? Seems a little "clearer" and perhaps lighter? Is it more similar to Taubman's Antique Ivory? (Thanks S. for future ensuite photos ... I think I'll just keep hassling until you show it again ) My signature is distracting people from my wise posts ... White Duck is a great colour, and I don't think (from seeing photos) that it looks yellow at all! I did have heaps, but once I made up my mind on what colour it was going to be, I threw all the others out so I wouldn't be tempted to look and change my mind!! Henley - Wilshire Mk 3 ... House looks fabulous - love your style! Thanks for sharing! Had another question for you in regards to your shutters - sorry - reading through your thread, it appears that your shutters are attached directly to the architraves. Do you find that light comes in through the gap between the architrave and the shutter? I'm obtaining quotes for both (with and without an additional frame around the shutter) but was warned off attaching them directly to the architrave (by the sales guy). So thought I'd ask someone who actually has it installed . The rooms are so much darker now with them closed (but I'm used to Redi-Shades), and even in the brightness of the day the rooms are very dark with them closed. If you are used to heavy 3 pass drapes with a pelmet then you would probably notice the difference, but for me, it's fine! I have to turn on the bedroom light even after 8am to see what I'm doing, where as I have never had to do that before. I haven't actually seen ones that have an additional frame, so I'm unsure how they 'work'. The hinges mine are attached to the architrave with protrude a tiny bit past the architrave, which means that the shutters can be opened further than 90 deg (almost back to the wall) and make cleaning and removing fly screens easy. With a frame around the edge, I don't know how the hinges would work and how the shutters would open enough to allow easy cleaning etc, as I haven't seen them before. Now I am very concious of sleeping in too long as it's so dark! Let me know if you would like some photos of them open and the hinges etc! Henley - Wilshire Mk 3 ... I love my house!! I really appreciate you taking the time to answer my questions! I'm torn between the two options - I think I'll have to have more of a chat to the installers about options for some of my windows and maybe visit their showroom. Their quote was more expensive than those with the frame... decisions, decisions.... Cheers C p.s If you're interested in what the shutters look like with the additional frame - I've been bugging Loretta (JohnnyD) about her shutters too http://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=17870&start=660 page 34 Never argue with an idiot they drag you down to their level & then beat you with experience - Dilbert View Thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=19733 Contract signed 14Sept Slab 30Sept Bricks laid 1Dec Lock up 26Feb Keys 10Jun Re: The Story of Stormy's Castle. *Plantation Shutters* 1633Jul 21, 2010 11:48 am No problem Mrs Rose! I did have a closer look at Loretta's shutters and I can see what is meant by 'the frame'! That would have worked for us on sliding windows, but I don't know how it would go on awnings, where the flyscreen is on the inside and is a very tight fit. I removed mine from the awnings to clean the windows prior to installation of my shutters. To have an extra frame on the inside of the architrave, I don't know how easy/difficult it would be to remove the fly screens after the shutters and frame have been installed. If you have awnings and flyscreens, I'd be asking the shutter dudes 'how' to remove them with an extra frame! It was tricky without the frame (squashed fingers!), but to loose an extra 10mm (as a guess) around the whole architrave frame might make it impossible! Don't know, just guessing, but worth asking! French provincial is a style I love (but actually lack the ability to implement since I have no sense of style). I'm also in the SE burbs of Melbourne, so you'll have to start sharing the names of the shops you've been to so I can go check out all the pretties On another note, my partner would LOVE these canvases, he's a flag nut! Stormy I did see that, Hels! Looks fabulous! I love my lamp, and would dearly love another, but other things take priority at the moment. I have finished and put on the wall some flag canvases for my Son's room. It's still pretty 'non-decorated'...but these things take time...and money!!!
