Hi Everyone,
I've been a little 'quiet' in this thread lately, as I don't want to say too much about 'issues' in case it works against me if I proceed with 'other options'. Surfice to say, nothing has been done to fix my HDMI cable....and that's all I'll say on the matter at this stage.
Life just seems to get busier and busier, but I have found some time to decorate a little more and finish off some long overdue projects. The first one was an old baltic pine stained/varnished bookcase. There was absolutely nothing wrong with it, except the colour! Instead of chucking it out and buying another, I set about painting it. It cost me about $17 for primer and $50 for paint (that I have other plans for too).

The picture is a sheet of $7.95 wrapping paper, and framed in an IKEA Ribba frame...cheap, but affective, artwork.

I can also proudly say my little study nook is complete too.
The 25 year old pine desk before (note messy school bag chucked on the floor!):

...and after a coat of $17 primer (Zinsser BIN, can't recommend it enough!), 2 coats of the already bought paint from the shelf and $21 on new hardware....we have this:

My best bargain buy was an on sale apothecary jar from Target ($14) and vintage sheet music I bought for $5 from an antiques shop and rolled it up into different sized scrolls and tied with string. Why? Why not!

So what's next?? I still haven't started the light blue buttoned ottoman I plan on making for the lounge room, and doubt I'll get that done before Christmas....too much else to do!!
