Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jun 11, 2014 5:19 pm Hello everyone, I'm new to this forum and I'm seeking some advice on builders around Melbourne South East. I've already signed up for a land (14x28m ) and because of the council setbacks I'm restricted to a building envelop of (12.8x20m). After going through many available plans from popular builders like Porter Davis, Carlyle, Henley, DFH etc. found out that DFH’s "Hastings" is the best suit for our block and our requirements. I love this design. But there are few things that worries me a bit. 1. When I researched on some online product review websites, DFH has some pretty bad review in regards to their build quality. Especially many people have encountered some issues on their plaster, driveway issues etc. 2. I visited a DFH display home last weekend in Melbourne North. I was shocked to see some cracks on a wall of the display house. These cracks were underneath the loo in en-suite. From this point onwards, I seriously started doubting their build quality. So I would like to listen to some feedback from people who have already built with Dennis Family recently. Their experiences and personal opinion in regards to their build quality, after sale service, and any other issues. Thanks heaps.. Re: Dennis Family Build Quality- Interested to build "Hastin 2Jul 22, 2014 8:44 pm Hi uadissa, I am also worried about the reviews on product review website. I am considering cosgrove 292 in greenvale. please let me know if you have any feedback. Thanks bjasani Re: Dennis Family Build Quality- Interested to build "Hastin 3Sep 19, 2014 2:46 am Hi Guys, I have actually seen 2 such homes by that builder and each was well above average for large builders. Ask who is going to supervise and what experience they have. 'Builder unlimited' is ideal because those people have the most experience and are actually liable, whereas injured carpenters and the like do not have such broad experience. Good luck deciding, Leonardo_23 Hi everyone, Newbie renovator here, after some advice for combining our family room in the picture and the alfresco and make a larger family room. There is a flush sill… 0 4843 Thank you so much everyone. This all makes a lot of sense. I guess when you talk to a builder who butters up everything to look very polished, you get to start believing… 8 17190 thank you! do we need to get this or our builder before we commence new build on the block? 2 10260 |
