For one thing , the colour of our interior does not look like what we picked. Anyway, we signed in the contract that we wouldn't contest colour variations. But the main problem is that the paint peels off the wall so easy. We have patches of paint coming off. We had a painter come into do some work, he suggested that the walls were not sealed. Hence the paint peeling off. Not only that, but the paint that was used by the HGWA painter was not dulux paint (which was specified in our contract) it was a cheap imitation. We found the left over paint in our garage. That's why the colour didn't match what we picked. Has anyone had a similar thing happen to them. This is a real problem because at some point we are going to have to strip it, seal it and have it repainted! Hi Tonk Peeling is often because the plaster wasnt properly dry. Some painters will advise leaving walls for 6 months before they are painted. But, who wants to do that right? and if the builder is tasked with painting, they also have a timeframe to meet so they just do it. Sealers are another potential issue and as I understand it with the painting std, walls being a new strata should get sealed, then undercoat then two coats of paint...But i guess these days often the sealer and undercoat are mixed and i'm not sure if that also leads to an inferior finish. I'm disappointed with out painting but mostly due to the plaster work. I will never do a double brick build with grey float and white set again. Dry wall all the way for us in the future! Block of two storey townhouses requires painting on the roof. A brick parapet wall separates each unit and extends above the tiled roof. The parapet walls require sealing… 0 3501 I posted the floorplan on Houzz.com forum and got some really good ideas and advice from people there.
