Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jun 10, 2014 11:14 pm Well I've decided to get on the bandwagon and start my own thread. Joe and I are building our second home and we secured a nice piece of land in Byford a street away from our kids school. The block is 578 sqm and we are Building the Bordeaux with a few changes. We received our building permit yesterday and are hoping we are only a couple of weeks off seeing some progress. Re: Bel and Joes HGWA Build. 3Jun 10, 2014 11:30 pm posting to follow - we are also building a modified Bordeaux Re: Bel and Joes HGWA Build. 4Jun 10, 2014 11:34 pm Hi Belzey, Just checked out your plans. Loving your modified master suite And I have triple garage envy thats for sure. Our block is very narrow but long. Would have loved a triple garage to fit in our camper trailer. I will try and hop on tomorrow and update some pics of our selections Re: Bel and Joes HGWA Build. 5Jun 11, 2014 7:42 pm hi Bel and joe welcome to homeone and to HGWA love how big your bench is!! Re: Bel and Joes HGWA Build. 6Jun 11, 2014 8:50 pm Great looking plan. Love both that massive store room and your long kitchen island bench. Though personally I would have put the kitchen more to one side over centre placement. But personal preference. Re: Bel and Joes HGWA Build. 7Jun 11, 2014 11:37 pm Hi Bel and Joe, your plan looks great. I never thought to extend the master bedroom like you did. And your big kitchen bench and store room are great ideas too. Just a thought...Have you considered closing off the study on the laundry side? gives you another room and an extra long laundry bench, especially if you flip the WIL to the other side Toni's thread viewtopic.php?f=31&t=71645 Re: Bel and Joes HGWA Build. 8Jun 12, 2014 10:59 am Love what you did with the plan, your master bedroom is massive. Kitchen is fab as well. Welcome to the HGWA family here on the forum, there are a few of us and most of us have had a relatively smooth ride so far. We are at the same stage, just waiting for some action on the block. Looking forward to seeing how your build goes. Re: Bel and Joes HGWA Build. 9Jun 12, 2014 12:56 pm looking forward to seeing what selections you have picked out for the house Re: Bel and Joes HGWA Build. 10Jun 12, 2014 3:15 pm Love your nice big kitchen and store! Just sitting back waiting for scheduling to finish. We got a tap Monday, so someone is clearly doing stuff behind the scenes. But I'd love to see something happen on the block!!! We've been in scheduling for 3 weeks now, building licence is issued so it can't be too long now. Re: Bel and Joes HGWA Build. 19Jun 12, 2014 8:04 pm Fingers crossed for you Marcia it won't be long. I spoke with our construction consultant today and she said they will be booking our earthworks and concreter tomorrow so we should have an idea of a date tomorrow Re: Bel and Joes HGWA Build. 20Jun 12, 2014 10:36 pm Just checked and we started scheduling on the 24th April so it took 7 weeks. Thank you so much everyone. This all makes a lot of sense.
