The trouble is that it is probably quite expensive for them to get the gas there. It really does feel like a step backwards. As far as I know endeavour energy is literally across the road on darkes road! I see no reason why they can't get gas thru the estate. Does that mean vista park doesn't get gas or alkira? I have tried to ask the developer contact I have and beside the first reply I got saying there will not be natural gas I haven't had a response to my requests for further information. It's almost making me doubt building there. Already spend $5000 on this so we are committed! I dare say the other estates will have similar problems, at the end of the day it's not a deal breaker for myself and partner. Just hope eventually we get natural gas We got our 2nd tender back which included the cost of the LPG gas bottles. Colour studio appointment in 2 weeks! I'm told there will be a more official email by the end of the week with more info they are still waiting on it it I'm told there is nothing to worry about everything is going to plan. The guy I talked to knows already what's going on but they can't say much until the info is released properly by the developer.. So all sounds good and not to worry . My wife hates the smell of gas but she will just have to lite it faster. Hopping they get started soon too. We have selected our external colours now. Although we haven't lock them in. We have added to the contract if natural gas is available before registration we can change to it without cost and change hot water to instantaneous too. Looking forward to your next update Krissy39. We have decided not to get the LPG connected & instead go with the electric cooktop & use an electronic hot water pump. They are a little more expensive with upfront cost but in the long run they save heaps. Plus later on down the track I plan on getting solar panels. I've left a message with the developer about the trees on my block. I'm under the impression that we have to pay to remove these. Does anybody know more about this? Grass removal spoil etc should be included. How have you located where your block is? Do you know exactly where it is? I have an idea where out block is but not exactly. I've driven past & made a guess as to where our block is. We are getting 2 separate contracts. One for land & one for the house. When I spoke to our sales rep he said it could cost between $500-1000 to remove the tree. I just thought the developer may have it moved since they are putting the retaining walls in & levelling the blocks.. Luckily ours has none. The developer sold all the land off to the builders and they have packaged it for sale. You can't buy a block and get your own builder to build your own design on it. If you buy a block from mjh or Dixon home then you need to build one of their designs in that block. You can't ask Clarendon to build one for you unless you got their block. There are 2 seperate contracts because you need to own the land before you can give them permission to build on it. This is how a house and land package works. We don't have a tree on my block I am fairly certain, the figtree is about 100m down the hill from our block and the block is fairly level with about 800mm fall across it. The contours don't show any retaining walls for us but across the road there are a few but those blocks haven't been put on the market as yet. Also I noticed today that th portaloos have been removed and I heard that the da is still with council and there isn't a contract for the earthworks to start as yet either. Unfortuanately I don't see this being registered in Jan/Feb 15. It will be costing us $950 a month after that in increased building fees so hopefully they get a move on.
