I'll be here for a while too I reckon, I love the ideas that generate from this forum. We'll still have so much to do for the next year or so, it's going to be ridiculous!

I guess i can do a little intro; my wife and i are building in the Woodville area (not st clair, and their list of encumbrances) we bought an investment property, with the intention of sub divide and KDR. After years after of searching for another block in Prospect we gave up and decided to build on this one. Took our idea's to an architect (two page spread on wishlists) and drew up a shortlist of builders we liked: Beechwood homes, ADH and got quotes from Stellar, Dechellis, Format, Seiksui and Endeavour. The house is to be constructed with MgO Panels sourced in Wingfield and fully rendered. We are lucky that this process has been done by the builder before, we struggled to find a builder whom would build without any bricks! I'm still debating to have full thread just dedicated to my build; i already have the blog and its picture heavy...(wish i had nbn just to view it) looking forward to what the new year will bring. We currently have a completed slab; and hope to move in for the end of August. Enjoy! I've seen your plan before Firefox. Love it ![]() Re: South Australia builds 2014/2015 90Jan 13, 2015 12:40 pm Great plan Firefox, youve obviously put a lot of thought into it. The upstairs retreat will be great. Will be interesting to see an MgO panel build! Re: South Australia builds 2014/2015 92Jul 11, 2015 9:07 am Hi all We have signed with homestead, we are about to demo Still waiting for council 12weeks we are building in a character zone, in broadview on a 827m block Hold up is they want 1.5 set back on both sides. So we done that on one but want to build on the boundary on the other but still no go. Meeting with the head planner on Monday. If no go its back to the drawing board Here goes! Re: South Australia builds 2014/2015 93Jul 11, 2015 9:21 am Hi Coffeeemad, Interesting to see the challenges of building in a 'character zone'. Seems like it is much easier in other parts of Adelaide to build on boundary and 1m from sides. Good luck! Re: South Australia builds 2014/2015 94Jul 11, 2015 9:24 am Hi coffee, That's a nice size block in broadview. 1.5m both sides is pretty harsh but the character areas attract us for the very same reasons that we find hard to stomach when we are planning a build. Having just demolished all I can offer is remember SAPN take at least 6 weeks for abolishion of supply and the demo can't start untill this is done. Re: South Australia builds 2014/2015 95Jul 11, 2015 9:32 am Yes good point twin_dad, SA Power took 8 weeks for us and actually held us up... The demolition guy told us they are only there for 10mins too, unbelievable! Also they will offer a chance to fast-track it which costs hundreds, what a rip-off. Yer there was actually a time when the fast track list was longer than the normal list. Re: South Australia builds 2014/2015 98Jul 11, 2015 10:06 am Nice plan! Cool kitchen. Had you thought about swapping your ensuite Location for wir then you could have a window in toilet and entire for light/ ventilation. What's the area with the dropped ceiling for, media/study?? I would probably prefer the powder room to be where the back to back linens are otherwise walking down the corridor you are looking into it also as children older/teens it might be a bit more private. Looking forward to seeing it, good luck with council, we had issues!! : ) Re: South Australia builds 2014/2015 100Oct 11, 2015 5:03 pm Hello all New to this forum Gojng through selections with lares homes at this moment. Has anyone used hydronic underfloor heating in sa? Appreciate any thoughts - negative or positive Thanks Selena Yeah, i guess we will see how it goes, but we will most likely be flicking them over 10 16698 Building Standards; Getting It Right!
