Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jun 03, 2014 1:51 pm Hello everyone. I thought it time that I start a new topic for our (planned) build in BG. We're a family of 4 and this will be our first build. Hopefully, our last .
We've signed a PPA with Ben Trager Homes and have just been given our selection file although pre start is a long way off. We're only expecting title next month anyway! Plus there's the small matter if the site survey, soil tests, etc which will tell us whether we have a minefield in our block , so no building contract just yet. Needless to say, we've followed the other BTH threads quite closely. So far, we're quite pleased with their approach and the SC has been excellent. My dear lady is very excited, especially with the selection file. I'm excited too......er...but keeping the budget very much in mind. For now, we're electing to do the floors, window treatments and interior wall painting to the lower floor ourselves. We'll probably decide by pre start what we'll finally do. I'll try and upload plans later tonight. From a proper PC, not from this phone Re: Building in Banksia Grove - Ben Trager Homes 2Jun 03, 2014 8:54 pm Welcome to the BTH club ronfire. Which design are you going for? Any modifications? Floorplan? Looking forward to see your build progress. Re: Building in Banksia Grove - Ben Trager Homes 3Jun 03, 2014 9:35 pm Thanks, oncewerefurriers. We did check out ur blog a bit before we decided on BTH! Our block is pretty small, so we're going with the Trevion. We haven't changed a great deal. We flipped the family room and kitchen, and then merged the WIP with part of the garage store area to get a larger WIP and scullery area with a benchtop. Mrs Ronfire is thrilled...hehe. We also got a storage room with a door under the staircase, put a double French door frame on the theatre room plus doors on 2 bedrooms upstairs. Otherwise we've stuck to the design. Er....just trying to figure out how to upload the plans... Thanks, archetto! We did check out your thread too. Fantastic plans! AshShep Hey Ronfire Great plans! Thanks, AshShep! The original design was pretty much what we were looking for, so we changed very little. Forgot to mention that we made a change to these plans which is not reflected on the pics. The gable was put on there because of the estate conditions, but we since took it off and replaced it with a planter box just outside the window of the master bed in front, cos the estate said any 'architectural feature' was acceptable - didn't have to be a gable. My wife hated the gable from the start, so she jumped at the chance to get rid of it!! Where on the website are they advertised, I enjoy checking out plans especially from same builder Our build thread: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=70984 Re: Building in Banksia Grove - Ben Trager Homes 13Jun 05, 2014 4:40 pm we are building in a revamped land release in craigie called "the vive" by landcord, ended up getting a decent size block *488sq/m* for reasonable price of land that isnt near south geraldton yes ben trager do single storey homes, at very good prices might i add... they are basically the double storey designs without stairs and an upper floor i will upload our plans once i am home and can access my files Re: Building in Banksia Grove - Ben Trager Homes 14Jun 05, 2014 5:20 pm Pretty neat! We 'had' to do double storey as it would of been a crime to buy the block with ocean views and not! Plus gives us a big backyard, probably unusual for early 20's first home owners but luckily BTH make it achievable! Plans look great Our build thread: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=70984 Re: Building in Banksia Grove - Ben Trager Homes 17Jun 05, 2014 8:24 pm Very nice! We went with the dbl storey to make best use if our small block but this is really well laid out. No worries, thread is open for all to contribute! Looks far better with the kitchen flipped and with a scullery. archetto We 'had' to do double storey as it would of been a crime to buy the block with ocean views and not! Ditto. I met our new SS (both of them???) who commented on (if not a little jealous of) our view from the balcony. Re: Building in Banksia Grove - Ben Trager Homes 19Jun 06, 2014 1:33 pm We love our balcony too, can't wait till we can get up there and see what view we do have! Shame they are so $$ to add but will be worth it..can't wait to be up there with drink in hand Our build thread: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=70984 Re: Building in Banksia Grove - Ben Trager Homes 20Jul 03, 2014 8:20 am Still waiting for titles to be issued, which we were advised would happen this month, so still on schedule - for now! As far as building goes, prestart booked to happen in two weeks' time. So far, so good. Our bank requires us to provide one but we are missing 4 building certificates from our first… 3 71810 yes it does, you've just not understood it. theres a difference. 4 5322 Your house should come in "as new" condition.
