Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jun 22, 2014 2:34 pm My experience is getting Best to Worse. After great experience will Sales, Finance and Plans, Aussie Living is making me regret to choose them . House is now is construction phase and after 2.5 months of slab down, they still can't arrange a brick layer. Being such a reputable builders you would think that they would have arranged all trades during scheduling. They keep telling me that bricklayer will on site next week but that week never comes, and all the material like concrete, frames including wooden frames and getting soaked in rain for 3 weeks. I was promised to have brick-layer at site last week but it never happened and now they and denying to give me any update. So I am in complete dark and not sure where they at Re: My 1st home with Aussie Living 2Jun 24, 2014 6:22 pm Hi Amalhi we are building with AL too and I understand your frustrations! We have been dealing with them for the last year and a half and I cannot wait until we don't have to deal with them anymore. Where are you building? We are building in Baldivis. Who is your client liaison? I hope your experience becomes better Re: My 1st home with Aussie Living 3Aug 08, 2014 10:05 am Hi Amalhi, That doesn't sound good at all. Where abouts are you building? And getting false updates doesn't help either. I am glad though that finally the brickwork has finished. How is your house coming along? Re: My 1st home with Aussie Living 6Sep 15, 2014 11:29 pm Good-day Guys, Be thankful that you know at this early stage how you are going to be treated. And if you read your contract there is a penalty for late completion note. This amount should be your mortgage repayment amount but rarely is that much... have a guess in whose favour? I suggest you monitor progress very closely writing it in your diary each time they phone or you phone or visit your site and write down important conversations each night just in case. Next, I suggest you ask them in writing (email) if they are going to complete your house on time and that you are concerned. You mentioned rain and of course bricklayers do not work in the rain or the mortar will be severely weakened. But might I also suggest that you video each stage or take lots of photos just in case. Being pro-active helps your spirits quite a bit. Several of my clients have been able to use their notes later to great effect. Good luck. About 2-3 months ago, AL bought about 40 teams of brickies so there should not be a hold up in that area any more. I spoke with friends who are going through other builders and they are saying the builder has said the same thing to them - brickies were for some reason tough to get. They are still saying this, AL are saying it's no problem anymore. I've just signed up with them, and I've also heard from the Land Agent that AL had brought on a heap of brickies to help them with their huge demand for homes! Hi there, We’ve recently had plans approved to add a 1st storey addition to our existing house for a growing family in Sydney. With the current cost of building… 0 4411 I would be wary. Is you site demilished but nothing else done? Sounds like liquidity problems to me. Our builder did the same. Got hundreds of thousands of dollars of… 2 15498 3 5706 |
