I'm building an investment property and live in Sydney so I need a company who is going to do everything. Just a question on cooling - I'm going to get ducted air but is it necessary to have ceiling fans too? I've noticed that security screens are all the rage too. I personally am not a big fan of AC or the running costs however QLD summers can be pretty unbearable sometimes. Our AC gets used about 5-10 times a year, on the other hand our ceiling fans get used for about 4-6 months of the year. Security screens again come down to personal preference, however i would recommend at the very least fly screens on all windows. We like security screens for the reassurance that we can leave a window open and not worry too much as opposed to a flimsy fly screen, but realistically fly screen, security screen or no screens if someone wants to break in they will find a way. :-D Modified Miami 31- Brighton Homes https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?t=91265&f=31&p=1789112#p1789112 Re: Regatta 2920 (Planbuild -Brisbane) - Handover complete : 192Aug 30, 2014 8:04 pm Have to agree with kailie86 on the use of fans especially in qld. We had the aircon removed from out package but added fans in every room, will add aircon later if it gets hot enough. I rented a house with just aircon and no fans and I hated it, not always hot enough for aircon and at least fans circulate some air. I think security screens look ugly so we opted for fly screen for now and eventually want to upgrade to crimsafe. Loving the way everything is coming together and we are just loving living here. Still a list a mile long of things to do and we haven't even started on the outside yet but it will come together eventually Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ First time painting a wall ever Think I did a pretty good job of the bulkhead! I was actually thinking crimsafe when I said security screens. The security grill over the flyscreens look terrible, crimsafe looks much better. But @zozo some sort of screens are almost a necessity. :-D Modified Miami 31- Brighton Homes https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?t=91265&f=31&p=1789112#p1789112 Re: Regatta 2920 (Planbuild -Brisbane) - Handover complete : 195Aug 31, 2014 7:21 pm Wow kailie86, looking amazing you must be so pleased. I think the wall looks great, we want to do some feature walls but not had the time yet. I really like the little niche near the front door. Can't believe you are still without internet! We've been connected for almost 2 weeks now. NBN is fantastic! So quick Looking forward to seeing what Cinquain's place looks like now that they've moved in. Hopefully they'll be back online soon! :-D Modified Miami 31- Brighton Homes https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?t=91265&f=31&p=1789112#p1789112 Re: Regatta 2920 (Planbuild -Brisbane) - Handover complete : 198Sep 02, 2014 8:05 am Wish we could get nbn but will be waiting even longer for that hopefully this week we will be connected sick of paying outrageous prices for telstra'a mobile internet. Yes hoping she will be back online soon, had one message from her saying the move had been chaotic. 10 x harder when you have little people helping you.
