Browse Forums Building A New House 1 May 28, 2014 10:34 am Hi We’re looking to build with Coral Homes with the Inspiration package. For those who don’t know, this includes A LOT of upgrades including timber alfreso, colourbond roof, upgraded kitchen etc. amongst other things. It also includes floor (laminate or tiles) in main areas and carpet in bedrooms. We want a wood like floor area but don’t want laminate. At this stage we are leaning towards wood-like tiles vs vinyl planks. Our Coral Homes consultant said we could pick any tiles from Beaumonts “Gold” or “Silver” range. Does anyone know if their wood-like tiles (900 x 150) are included in this gold and silver range? Here is a link: http://www.beaumont-tiles.com.au/AllPro ... g=WOODLOOK Secondly, if we go with vinyl planks, do you think Coral Homes would install them? And lastly, if I didn’t get any flooring through coral and wanted a credit for this...how much would Coral give back? $10,000? $15,000? Obviously these are questions I’ll be raising with our Coral Consultant but thought I’d check here first as we’re not ready to meet with them yet. Thanks!!! Agent009 Re: Coral Homes Inspiration Package - Flooring options 2May 28, 2014 1:19 pm Hi Agent009, Tile costs are around $82/sqm for tiles. This includes labor. Wood laminate starts at $84/sqm ($2 more per sqm than tiles), and depending on the range you choose, goes up (a lot). Proper wood floors (pine, cedar, mahogany) are by quote only and will be very expensive. The woodlook (plank) tiles by Beaumont are a "red sticker" tile. Red sticker tiles mean you will be charged extra (based on the price of the tile, IE $80, minus the price coral uses, like $45 per sqm of tile, to figure out how much you owe). Better off speaking with Beaumont directly about this as they can do the calculations for you. The tiles i was looking are the "Wood essence Bark" tiles, but they are $100/sqm and rectified. Rectified tile labor is not included in the tile laying costs either. At $100sqm i was looking at close to $5000 additional on top of the already $5000~ for tiling, way too much! A gold sticker woodlook tile is the Poplar Dark Grigio: http://www.beaumont-tiles.com.au/AllPro ... OK&pspid=4 Make sure you check it out in person though, you might not like it (I dont). If you are in Queensland, head down to the Loganholme store. Tell the people you are building a new home through Coral. They should print out a few sheets of paper with the rules around what tiles you can choose for each room. Then browse the store for gold/silver stickers. Regarding the vinyl planks - IF i remember correctly, coral offer vinyl wood look planks, at extra cost. Just ask the sales agent. Discuss with your sales agent if you want to get your own flooring but have them lay it, they may not want to. You can do your own flooring at a later date if you wish, just ask them to remove flooring. Hope that helps. We did the sums and for us it was more cost effective to do indulgence and upgrade the things we wanted. I think the special ends 31 May. Emma Knock Down Rebuild with Clarendon Re: Coral Homes Inspiration Package - Flooring options 4May 28, 2014 8:07 pm Hi emaandrob we were thinking the same thing! But we are not in a position to sign in the next few days so we will skip and hopefully the next promotion is even better (fingers crossed). Thanks for the info whzzzz. We had a look on the Beaumont website and the tiles we are interested in 900 x 250 and rectified. This would blow our budget. So we are leaning towards vinyl planks again. Does anyone know if coral offer this and the price involved? I'd rather of through coral to be honest but if they don't have vinyl planks I may have to install during or after handover. Re: Coral Homes Inspiration Package - Flooring options 5May 29, 2014 1:30 pm Best to speak with the sales agent. They can tell you on the spot the price (per sqm) and you can then calculate it roughly on each floor plan. I did not ask if they had vinyl or not. I know they have laminates, and it was mentioned that they have many different price points for "wood like" flooring right up to actual wood flooring, so they might have vinyl as well. I went with Indulgence inclusions with the free kitchen upgrade (Which was worth quite a few $$$ to do otherwise). I could not afford the inspirations inclusions and wasn't sure i cared enough about the upgrades to warrant the extra. My Noosa 23 Build - viewtopic.php?f=31&t=72782 Re: Coral Homes Inspiration Package - Flooring options 6May 29, 2014 1:49 pm Thanks whzzz...I plan on contacting the agent soon I'd rather Coral do the floor (just one less thing to organise etc.) so fingers crossed they offer vinyl planks. For us, inspirations is probably worth it. You get the flooring included (not sure if vinyl included as it only mentions laminate or tiles), colorbond roof (which we really want), neo modern kitchen (which we really want) and outdoor alfresoc with decking (which we really want). That's about $50K worth of extras and inspirations is only $30K more. Obviously if you don't want the above it makes sense to go Indulgence! Out of interest what flooring did you go with? And what design did you choose? We are tossing between Casuarina 32 and 34. Re: Coral Homes Inspiration Package - Flooring options 7May 30, 2014 9:28 am Even if vinyl is not included in the costs, they will give you a discount. IE: If they alot $82/sqm for tiles and vinyl is $90, you will only pay the difference. I have gone with tiles. I wanted wood but couldn't afford the cost and decided tiles are a bit lower upkeep and more hardy to wear and tear. I am building a modified Noosa 23. Due to me having to submit extra paperwork to the bank (didn't change to my married name a decade ago.... ) we won't be able to sign up for the current Dream Inclusions package. I was given the impression that there is pretty much always a promotion offered by Coral to the value of around $10K. You will however have to pay $1600~. Once you sign, the price (and inclusions) remain valid for 120 days, from the date you sign. If the next promotion is better, or suites you more, you will not be able to take advantage of it unless you accept any price increases since when you originally signed. So you have the 120 days to get your bank sorted. Mind you, you probably won't get the $1600 back if you pull out too far along. You get porcelain tiles OR 3 strip engineered floating timber flooring included as part of the package. Re: Coral Homes Inspiration Package - Flooring options 13Jun 05, 2014 12:48 pm Thanks Agent_009. I rang Beaumont tiles today and they gave me a copy and its 600×300 and 500×500mm.You can upgrade to 600×600mm at an extra cost. Has anyone seen their carpet range 100% nylon cut plush pile?. I went to carpet call and its poor quality in my eyes so we are going to upgrade. Re: Coral Homes Inspiration Package - Flooring options 14Jun 05, 2014 1:22 pm There are four ranges of carpet you can get, Bronze (lowest), silver, gold and platinum. The display houses have platinum. I will be forking out the extra $1500 to get platinum as of all the carpets i felt, it was by far the best on my feet. Also be careful with rectified tiles. I haven't seen the promo (it's not on their website?) but rectified tiles cost more in labor to lay. So they might include porcelain tiles but you will be stung with the install costs. Also, the Alto Eggshell and Alto Ash polished porcelain tiles are "gold" range, so they cost no extra (the other Alto tiles are "red" though). My Noosa 23 Build - viewtopic.php?f=31&t=72782 Re: Coral Homes Inspiration Package - Flooring options 15Jun 05, 2014 1:40 pm Good point whzzzz. The promo definitely mentioned rectified were included but I forgot what it mentioned about installation and if you would need to pay extra. To be honest, we want a wood-look floor. The only tiles we like are in the "red" category at Beumont and we can't afford them. So we'll be going vinyl planks instead. I wonder what credit Coral will give us if we take ALL flooring out from Inspiration package. Is it based on the size of the house or not. For example we are going with Casuarina 34...obviously being a larger home flooring would cost more. I doubt Coral would credit us more due to the larger house though.... I don't know much about the 3 strip engineered flooring. It says it comes in six different colours but doesn't sound too appealing to me. I'm not sure how much you will get back, but probably not 100% of what it would have cost if you went Indulgence + paid for flooring. Best to ask the sales agent.
