I'm just interested to know how much your site costs were? We've paid our deposit with a breakthrough soho but are just worrying about site costs blowing out up proportion although we've allowed 10k for them. Thanks! 30/01/15 - Land Settlement 07/04/15 - Contract & colour selections 05/05/15- Council approval 28/05/15 - Site start Build Thread viewtopic.php?f=31&t=76068 Re: Building a Beckham - Plantation (Henley) 122Feb 20, 2015 7:30 pm It's all really coming together now! We're crossing our fingers and toes that this rain buggers off ASAP and then stays away until our house is completed! Lovely ages - we have a 6 and a 3 1/2 year old - all fun and games especially on wet weekends like the one coming our way . Re: Building a Beckham - Plantation (Henley) 123Feb 26, 2015 9:24 am Landscaping is now finished. All the electrics are finished and we are slowly unpacking. Installed the letter box the other day. Wife is not keen on it.. OOOPs. I like it, it is different compared to all the render letter boxes everyone has. Photos to come. Here is a picture taken last night. Anyway, yes we have finally started the build - slab was poured today - hooray it's all starting to feel real now ! How are you guys settling in? Re: Building a Beckham - Plantation (Henley) 125Mar 08, 2015 6:29 am Your place is looking fantastic, it very exciting isnt it! We have been in one month now and are still pinching ourselves every day when we wake up. Can I ask the details of your concreter and landscaper as we are having problems trying to get quotes on the southside. Re: Building a Beckham - Plantation (Henley) 126Mar 08, 2015 10:39 pm Molly and Lee, I walk past every morning whilst walking the dog so I will be able to follow the build. Bet you are very excited. DonThom, it is very exciting. As far as concreting, we used Creative Concrete Constructions, Nathan was very helpful. Landscaping we used ACR Structural Landscaping, Adrian is great. He is very helpful, will come to site and always does great work. We used him to do some fencing and retaining wall in our previous house. Hope this helps Re: Building a Beckham - Plantation (Henley) 128Mar 12, 2015 8:15 pm Yep we are super excited ! You can keep an eye on the progress in between our visits ! Who was your site supervisor? Our's is Dave but we haven't actually met him yet. How often did you meet with your supervisor. By the way do either of your kids go to daycare? Re: Building a Beckham - Plantation (Henley) 129Mar 16, 2015 9:28 pm Hi Molly and Lee, We had Mike, who has just moved onto another project within Plantation. He was great. Very helpful and always answered my questions. I noticed your frame is complete. Do you know when roofing is to be completed? They sure do. They love it Are you going to start a thread? Oh and other news - I got my timber for the rear deck delivered on Friday... Woo hoo. Now I just need to find some time to dig holes etc. I promise some interior shots shortly Re: Building a Beckham - Plantation (Henley) 130Mar 17, 2015 8:27 pm Hi, Have thought about starting a thread but haven't got around to it yet. Timber deck sounds like a lot of work. Good luck with it. Which daycare do they go to? I've heard good things about a centre at Rochdale but can't remember it's name - Rochdale childcare and preschool perhaps? Not sure when our roof will be going on but have a site meeting next Friday so hopefully it will be done by then. Molly Re: Building a Beckham - Plantation (Henley) 132Mar 18, 2015 7:13 pm Not too sure what we'll be doing for alfresco yet but probably tiles or aggregate concrete I think. Why's that? Re: Building a Beckham - Plantation (Henley) 133Mar 18, 2015 7:24 pm Haggismac Hi Molly and Lee, We had Mike, who has just moved onto another project within Plantation. He was great. Very helpful and always answered my questions... Hey Haggismac! We are building with Plantation too, but down on the Gold Coast, but our site supervisor is also called Mike and we just started last week...I wonder if it is the same guy, I guess not as we're in different areas...does his last name start with A? (I'm not sure about the policy of putting a last name here in the forum). Your house looks great, our colour selections are quite similar to yours - we went with a dark-tiled ensuite too but in a larger tile and I was worried it would be too dark but your photos look gorgeous. We have a white benchtop to try to break it up a bit. Did you have a good experience overall with Plantation? He was great. Was very helpful. We had a great experience with Plantation. This was our first build and we found the whole process very smooth. I just made sure to keep in contact reguraly and ask for site visits. I will try and get photos shortly, I always have the best intentions but then get distracted when I get home. I have started the deck out the back so will photo some photos of that to. Re: Building a Beckham - Plantation (Henley) 135Mar 23, 2015 7:38 pm Hi Chris, Any daycare recommendations? Looking forward to seeing your photos! Molly Re: Building a Beckham - Plantation (Henley) 137Mar 23, 2015 8:14 pm Looks great! No daycare recommendations? Re: Building a Beckham - Plantation (Henley) 139Mar 25, 2015 7:25 am Oh sorry Molly and Lee, I forgot that bit. Nothing around the Rochedale area, ours go to daycare in East Brisbane. I work in New Farm so its on the way to and from work for me. I think at the moment we will keep it that way. I noticed your roof is on now, coming along nicely. Hopefully the weather stays good for you. Re: Building a Beckham - Plantation (Henley) 140Mar 28, 2015 12:57 pm The back deck has started. Unfortunately this weekend my wife is working so its currently on hold. But this is where I am unto. Holes have been dug and frame almost completed. Just the bit to put in behind the post once the stirrups are in place. Have left the 25mm to satisfy Termimesh etc. Hopefully I can complete the concreting next weekend. Hi, If you give a set of criteria as to what means 'good' to you, it'll give others prompts to respond. We considered Henley early on but there were two factors that… 1 10496 go upvc window frames ensure insulation under colorbond. not just sarking, lighter color roof also not sure if you have seen this viewtopic.php?t=5823 last couple of pages… 4 110560 |
