Fingers crossed that rain stays away this week as brickwork is due to start this week. Just wish we could move in already! Your progress on the deck looks great - very clever . Re: Building a Beckham - Plantation (Henley) 144Mar 29, 2015 8:42 pm Love this deck haggismac. We are looking for ideas to extend our little alfresco too and this looks like a good way to do it without it feeling tacked on. ——— Sent from Tapatalk My build thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=76446 Jen (& Dave) Plantation Bronte, Ormeau Ridge, Gold Coast QLD 12/03/2015 - Commencement... 26/08/2015 - Handover! viewtopic.php?f=31&t=76446 Re: Building a Beckham - Plantation (Henley) 146Apr 04, 2015 9:36 am Hi Everyone, We have been following your posts and have enjoyed reading about everyones experience. We have just signed with Plantation homes to build a Beckham in Coomera Retreat. We have joined the thread a bit late as we have already had our colour appointment etc, just waiting on the final figures for all our upgrades with the colour selection. Not sure what to expect with that. We have already spent about $30k extra to upgrade our Beckham from Breakthrough to Plantation standard, so we are super excited. I actually think we might be some of the last people that have signed for the Beckham as we signed up and paid our initial deposit the week that the Breakthrough range ended. We will try and keep you guys up to date on our progress and we will post some pics of our colour selections Cheers Building an upgraded Beckham Re: Building a Beckham - Plantation (Henley) 147Apr 06, 2015 12:55 pm I have had a very productive weekend. I have finished all the concreting of the stirrups and attached the deck to the concrete pad. I have built the extra part of the deck around the post and started installing the decking board. Did you get the roof area extended for the alfresco or will that extra part just be open? On another note, we are considering upgrading our kitchen appliances as we have read some scathing reviews on Technika. Did you guys stick with Technika or upgrade and if you did stay with the standard inclusions, how are you finding the appliances? Re: Building a Beckham - Plantation (Henley) 149Apr 07, 2015 4:43 pm @ Molly and Lee, We have been in our house for around 8 weeks now. We kept the Tehcnika oven and rangehood and have found them to be great so far. We did our own dishwasher and microwave though. Re: Building a Beckham - Plantation (Henley) 150Apr 07, 2015 7:21 pm Hi Molly and Lee, we kept the tecknika oven and dishwasher and find them to be great. Having said that I haven't had a 900mm stand along oven before so I have nothing to compare to. You may find that if you keep the standard and then a few years down the track you can find a good price for replacements. Thats my thinking anyway. I notice your bricks have been delivered. Noticed you got quite a few extra windows as well. Welcome justthe3ofus.... Re: Building a Beckham - Plantation (Henley) 152Apr 17, 2015 5:20 pm Haggismac Thanks Molly and Lee, It sure is. We have handover on Friday.. THIS FRIDAY WOO HOO... And the converters are starting on Monday. As far as recommending a concreter, I can highly recommend Nathan from Creative Concreting. He has been very professional, always answers calls and replies to emails in a timely manner.. If you need a landscaper I can recommend someone for that as well. We have used him before in Annerley to build fences and retaining walls and is always very reasonable. Any movement on yours yet? Hi haggismac. Your house looks amazing. We are about to start our build in Logan Village. Just wondering if you could give me the name of the landscaper you used? Thanks Re: Building a Beckham - Plantation (Henley) 153Apr 21, 2015 4:45 pm Thanks for the kind words... Guess what? I HAVE FINISHED!!! (apart from sealing it and one face board...) Here are the pics. agf18 - I used Adrian from ACR Landscaping. He does a great job, I can highly recommend him. I have put the numbers on the letter box as well. I take it that's not the first deck you've done, that looks wicked. Are you able to tell me what kind of price range the decking set you back in just materials? Re: Building a Beckham - Plantation (Henley) 160Apr 22, 2015 4:41 pm Hi synde... it is my first deck that I have built. I am stoked with the outcome. I did plenty of research before hand, making sure to conform with the correct codes etc. As for materials, they cost around $2000. Thats including decking boards, joists, stirrups, concrete, screws (LOTS AND LOTS OF THEM AHHHHHH). Some extra money was spent on some drill bits, concrete mixer hire and BEER. I think all up it cost around $2300. I dont know how much a builder would charge but I am sure I have made a saving. Hi, If you give a set of criteria as to what means 'good' to you, it'll give others prompts to respond. We considered Henley early on but there were two factors that… 1 12385 I do enjoy the drama:-D In his latest two videos he has started bringing security guards to site, I am waiting for the punch on to begin lol 6 46192 |
