They were working on the block over the weekend i believe preparing the footings. Haven't been able to go to the block due to personal reasons. Hopefully will be able to go at some point to look it over. Just happy things are moving forward. Cant wait. Once poured PD need to wait 2 weeks before they frame. Should give the slab a chance to cure. I was a day out with the estimates. They are finalising the pre slab today and pouring concrete tomorrow!! PD are really on the ball with the build so far. Re: Building the Sandarah 45T with Porter Davis 90Nov 11, 2014 10:21 am deefeez46waldorf pd have had a bad batch of concreters over the last few months make sure its boxed up to spec.. Hopefully, PD do their Job well with the Slab, it was my one greatest concern with building with them. Having the building inspector look over the site works before the Slab is Poured gives me a margin of hope that there will be less errors. I've seen the Horror of the Bendigo Waldorf build. If its not right, they will be ripping it up. I wont accept anything less then what i paid for. Especially when PD have charged me over 17k for the privilege of upgrading the slab to be up to engineers requirements. *Edit. Also blog has been updated. (has some extra photos) Building the Sandarah 45T with Porter Davis Blog: http://countrycityescape.blogspot.com Re: Building the Sandarah 45T with Porter Davis - Progress! 91Nov 11, 2014 7:27 pm Good luck as least you are well prepared with your inspector, sending you good thoughts that all will go well Custom build Northern NSW viewtopic.php?f=31&t=72217 Re: Building the Sandarah 45T with Porter Davis - Progress! 92Nov 11, 2014 9:06 pm So the slab is already boxed. Inspector came out and did the rounds. Apparently we had a concreting crew from geelong doing our slab. He didnt want to say it cause its his job to find faults but he was very happy with the slab preperation. Only found a couple of minor things which were rectified on the spot. It inspiries great confidance with the quality of the build and what is to come. We will update the log soon with a couple more photos. So tomorrow the slab will be poured and the 2 weeks to cure. Once that is done. They can start framing. The next inspection will be at the end of the framing stage were they hopefully will be happy with that too!!! Check out the blog to see the pictures So excited. Now to wait 2 weeks for the frame. Building the Sandarah 45T with Porter Davis Blog: http://countrycityescape.blogspot.com Re: Building the Sandarah 45T with Porter Davis - Progress! 95Nov 23, 2014 10:48 pm Visited the block today to check the site. PD seem to have started with a bit of frame preparation before it goes up on Wednesday. I wanted PD to wait for 2 weeks before they put up the frame as i wanted the slab to settle and cure. My partner has updated the blog with some photos. http://countrycityescape.blogspot.com.a ... aming.html The plan is to let PD complete the frame stage. Then we are going to get our building inspector to look at the slab and frame in one hit. As mentioned in a previous post, theres only two little concerns with the slab that i have, which is the meter box isn't 100% correct in the concrete and one corner of our alfresco wasn't poured correctly and needs rectification. They seem like pretty minor issues and i wanted to have the frame done which will also highlight any slab level issues (if any). Then PD can rectify all issues before moving onto the next stage. I'm not sure if PD will work over December. Might depend on the trades i guess. Would of been nice to get to lockup before they stop work. Re: Building the Sandarah 45T with Porter Davis - Progress! 97Nov 24, 2014 9:48 am tlblhayward Zarby... make sure that you get heaps of photos of the side of the slab. Once i get a chance to get out to the block again, ill take more photos. I'm no expert when it comes to building so i'm going to have to rely on my building inspector to pick things up. In fact, due to my illness that came on recently, My partner has been dealing with PD and the building inspector. I'm hoping to take on a more active role soon once im well enough. Has PD begun any rectification on your build yet? Would be nice to see your build get back on track. Your home is going to be awesome once its completed (properly). Massive blog update with lots of photos of frame. Site supervisor let us know to expect frame completed this wednesday. So we have our inspector coming out then to review the frame and the slab. So far things are looking fairly good. I dont want to nit pick the frame finish until its done as they still actively working on it. SS wants to get the roof on and house wrapped before they stop work over christmas with bricking to start in the new year. So far just really excited its all coming together. Walking in the house with walls etc just makes it so real now. http://countrycityescape.blogspot.com.a ... block.html and http://countrycityescape.blogspot.com.a ... house.html Building the Sandarah 45T with Porter Davis Blog: http://countrycityescape.blogspot.com Re: Building the Sandarah 45T with Porter Davis - Frame! 99Dec 01, 2014 7:01 pm Visited the site again today. Roof trusses have been installed. everything looks like its coming together. I noticed the frame for the front door and laundry door have been delivered. The front Door frame looks way to small. i think they have delivered a 2m instead of the 2.3m upgrade. Going to let PD know tomorrow. The door frame itself looks pretty cool and we apparently optioned a pivot front door. However the height just doesn't seem right. ill post some pictures later when i get them off the camera. Also met my neighbour from 2 doors down. (we have a empty block beside us). He came to say hi and was asking about our upstairs windows as he was concerned about over look issues until a house is built next door. I personally have more important things to do then stand and look into his side yard. Its fairly amusing issue to raise given that our blocks of land are Range View Blocks and that i can walk along a foot path behind his house and see straight into his backyard. Anyhow, looking forward to catching up with building inspector to raise some small issues that needs fixing. It's amazing how many pipes the framers break when putting up the frame. * Nicole has updated the blog. http://countrycityescape.blogspot.com.a ... plete.html plenty more photos to enjoy Building the Sandarah 45T with Porter Davis Blog: http://countrycityescape.blogspot.com Re: Building the Sandarah 45T with Porter Davis - Frame! 100Dec 09, 2014 3:53 pm Met with the Site Supervisor today to put a face to the name. Nice Chap. Had a nice discussion on the build. Discussed expected dates for each stage. Discovered somebody stole or "misplaced" our front door frame! There is another PD Double Storey being built literally around the corner the corner. (same road name as we live on a circuit) and that our door was originally sent to them by mistake and we got theirs. Now they got their door but ours went walk about. Our Roof is on and i had a colourbond moment when i got out the car! Looks so awesome with it all done. Reminded the site supervisor that the temporary gutter drainage needs to be completed. Also i have a waterfall in the house. Apparently upstairs is flooded (alternate solution anyone) and the water has pooled at the rear with no where to go yet. I'll post the video soon! - video http://tinypic.com/player.php?v=j5z85v% ... Id7uTEjySp fun times ahead.
