Browse Forums Building A New House 1 May 26, 2014 7:54 am Hi My husband and I are looking into building a new home in the Gleneagle area south of Brisbane. At the moment, we are looking at going with Coral homes and their Daydream 30 design. I just wanted to hear other people's experiences with them. We know that the soil will be at least a H class so we will have to extra for the foundations. Thanks for any info Re: Coral Homes 2May 26, 2014 12:35 pm Hi there, we are building with Coral too in Brisbane. We are waiting for our tender letter now. So far they have been most helpful. This is our third build and we swapped to coral after two hallmark homes. Hallmark were fantastic so this was a nervous move for us! We just liked the coral plan this time. Emma Knock Down Rebuild with Clarendon Re: Coral Homes 3May 26, 2014 12:56 pm Also building with Coral - Noosa 23. Also awaiting my tender letter. Should be arriving this arvo. I have read in other threads that Coral is great until you hit head-office stage. Then it becomes sloooow. So far that is proving to be true - almost a month to get my tender letter. In the mean time my street that with the land (which was just registered) already has other builders starting their builds. I'm still at least 1-2months away from that Otherwise the sales agent was pleasant to deal with and they had no issues making the changes i requested. Cost wise they were cheaper than one of the other cheap builders (not Hallmark) and the Noosa house stood out against the competition in design. So far i am happy. Our sales consultant has been really great, but we are only in the prelim stages (waiting on bank) so I don't have all that much experience with them as yet. He's been fantastic at providing detailed quotes with inclusions and changes. I hope we get this level of service all the way through. Must say though head office is slow and dont seem to be knowledgeable and if they are then forgetful. Just keep at them and they hurry up a little. Were suppose to get our slab laid this week if all goes to plan and we have a very nice building supervisor so that helps. Good luck with your plans and hope you all enjoy the process as much as us. Re: Coral Homes 6May 30, 2014 9:43 pm We're building a Daydream 30 if you want info check out my thread viewtopic.php?f=31&t=71270 Only thing that took a fair while and kept getting pushed back was when we went to tender from our sales consultant. After contracts were signed it was very fast, council approval was 4 days and with colour/tile selections and variations were also fast to re-price etc. Coral head office staff in Robina were so helpful! Coral Homes Daydream 30 *modified Gilston QLD Completion approx October 2014 Ask the council if there is a chance of getting build over easement exemption. Sometimes easements are unused and 24cm is not all that much. Good luck. And yes any builder… 2 13769 In Qld it is a requirement that a builder must have a cost breakdown, for building a home to the same specification, with the same inclusions and the same finish. So ask… 1 1798 Ask for references and speak to them. If they are defensive or try to avoid the request, walk. 1 74700 |
