Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Future Yanchep build 761Mar 12, 2015 6:53 pm What a pain in the @rse all that paperwork is Malsannie! You poor thing. Keep at it. It will come to an end so you can move on to the fun stuff. We were 8 months from signing up to slab down so it can be seriously time consuming. Thinking of you! Re: Future Yanchep build 762Mar 18, 2015 5:09 pm Oh Malsannie!!! I feel like I have been gone a lifetime and have missed out on a lot! Had a good read through and glad to see that things are looking up now. Such a pain with the paperwork, we had to do this as well and it felt like we went back and forth foreverrrrr. But I promise once the build starts you will be so excited that all this admin paperwork nonsense will feel like a distant memory! x Re: Future Yanchep build 763Mar 18, 2015 5:18 pm The paperwork is always annoying but it will end and you will enjoy the experience Other than that things going well? Re: Future Yanchep build 764Mar 19, 2015 12:27 am I thought of you the other day Mal. We have recently moved into scheduling and guess what?! They send yet another set of drawings and an addenda!! These are supposed to confirm all the previous changes plus anything the scheduling dept pick up on (adding notes to drawings for trades mainly). That now makes 11 revisions of which we have physical copies of 6. We noticed yet more errors on this addenda (things randomly disappearing from the previous addenda or being changed incorrectly) so we will be receiving at least one more set!!! Re: Future Yanchep build 765Apr 22, 2015 4:58 pm OMG OMG OMG!!!! Was about to switch off my pc as I'm on my way to work when I saw a new email ..... 'Welcome to Construction'!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can hardly believe it, didn't really think it was ever going to happen! When I read ' First your earthworks will be completed by the end of this week." I had to re-read it about 20 times lol. They expect slab down by 11th of May - if that is true it would be my sis's birthday - wouldn't that be great? Anyway not sure how I'll get much done today at work I can't stop smiling - and blubbing!! x Re: Future Yanchep build 'Welcome to Construction' 766Apr 22, 2015 5:09 pm Yay!!! So pleased for you. You're back to not being far behind us! Xx Re: Future Yanchep build 'Welcome to Construction' 779Apr 23, 2015 7:49 am I'm so sorry that I have been MIA for so long from this thread - I just could not bear to keep on saying nothing is happening. How strange that I felt somehow embarrassed to say 'I have no idea'. I think our colleagues/friends probably thought we were making things up after having travelled all the way to lovely Perth to 'finalise' things! I was considering ditching the thread and starting again but it wouldn't be right and it wouldn't be honest. Anyway - hopefully all of that is behind us now. I'm hoping RedInk will want to illustrate that you CAN build through them when you live far away and that it will work out well Thanks all of you for the lovely thoughts and encouragement I'm really not quite sure how this would have worked without having found this forum and all you lovelies. There are still 2 small hiccups - the front door isn't what we expected, and they've changed the cabinets in the ensuite a bit - for good reason but not in the way we'd prefer if we were asked/made aware of it. I am however confident that it will be sorted by the time it is needed by. I must say that the communication recently has been much improved on what it was before - so kudos to the girl who we've been dealing with. I'll be sure to let her management know. My parents will go see if anything has actually happened over the weekend - I think I have to see something has happened before I'll believe it/change the thread title! It sounds like they're also getting excited which makes me very very happy. PerthAussie it is so lovely of you to offer to send pictures, you have no idea what your offer means to me. I'll DM you the address - if you wanted to have a bit of a nosey if you should be in the area But please don't feel under any obligation or go out of your way at all. My parents live in Butler so not too far away and they'll probably go relatively regularly - once every week or 2. We have a bit of an issue with our front elevation colours - which I'll post about soon along with all our final selections and plans which hopefully won't have anymore issues hehe. ardie, wouldn't it be something else if we got a slab and you got keys on the same day? I'll hold our for that happening! We now need soakwells - and in a hurry - eep! I'm going to ask Soakwells R Us for a quote - anyone else I should approach? Re: Future Yanchep build 'Welcome to Construction' 780Apr 23, 2015 8:49 am MalSannie I'd be happy to! My daughter is the one accompanying me all the time and we love watching houses get built so I'm more than happy to! I'm so excited for you! Re the soak wells I have no idea how much this person charges but this business card was under our front door recently....
