No Power? 1883Nov 30, 2015 7:04 pm Ridiculous considering the industry is in a slump at the moment. And tradies using your loo is just not on, they have a portaloo ffs. I found skid marks in mine too, wasn't at all impressed. Re: Yanchep RedInk build: PCI Today at 9am..Wot? No Power? 1884Nov 30, 2015 7:05 pm Oh Mal, I'm speechless you would think knowing you are building from overseas they would be going beyond the call of duty to make it run seemless not like this Re: Yanchep RedInk build: PCI Today at 9am..Wot? No Power? 1885Nov 30, 2015 8:35 pm I would 100% be trying to get compensation for how much they have messed you around. I've had friends who had their alfresco timber beams painted when they shouldn't have and for something as small as that, they got $500. The ridiculous amount of mistakes they have made 100% need to be justified, and although a monetary sum won't fix everything or make anything better, it could at least give you something back from a company that has just taken from you and screwed you around! I hope once you get the keys, everything has been fixed and you're satisfied with the outcome! You deserve it!! Re: Yanchep RedInk build: PCI Today at 9am..Wot? No Power? 1886Nov 30, 2015 9:29 pm Oh mal . I'm so sorry you have to go through this . It's so frustrating. Is that how your toilet look like at pci . If so that is a joke . Red ink for me has been so up and down but I'm coming to the end and crossing fingers it ends on a happy note . I can say that the after building trades are so nice abd really do take care of your home . I know it's easy for me to say don't stress to much but it can send you insane to the point it interferes with your life . And from someone who stressed heaps I'm finally on the other side of it all and enjoying my home . I know soon you will too . Chin up xx Re: Yanchep RedInk build: PCI Today at 9am..Wot? No Power? 1887Dec 01, 2015 3:18 am BS12 Sucks to hear Mal! So bummed for you! This is seemingly becoming a recurring issue around the industry, am I not mistaken? Seems lots of houses are going to PCI/sign off with a bunch of post handover issues to still be fixed? Not ideal by any means! Yep BS12 it does seem to be recurring, but then you see some builds where people have been treated like the paying customers they are too - like Ourmansion and Livpal for instance. Just a shame some of us don't/didn't have that experience. We won't be bullied into signing anything, worst that can happen is that our trip to Perth is wasted with regards to house things. It certainly won't be the first wasted trip either......At least we'll see the family which is much more important than any old stupid house. (Oh, and I'm still not showing the hubster your telly!!! ) Re: Yanchep RedInk build: PCI Today at 9am..Wot? No Power? 1888Dec 01, 2015 3:35 am jlo1990 Thank sucks big time Mal. And tradies using your loo is just not on, they have a portaloo ffs. I found skid marks in mine too, wasn't at all impressed. It is a bit surreal isn't it! Trixee I honestly didn't mind people using the loo, we're all human and they will have to clean it - even if that is the last thing stopping us handing over the cheque. What I do have an issue with is the fact that they're using the loo knowing it is leaking - eweeeee all that sewage seeping into the grouting and tiles. Nice. I guess the one positive is that we'll have known by now if it didn't flush away. Re: Yanchep RedInk build: PCI Today at 9am..Wot? I hope once you get the keys, everything has been fixed and you're satisfied with the outcome! You deserve it!! Yep, agree.... But when we asked whether they'd be willing to get one of the colour consultants (who they use for prestart) to go to the house and suggest paint colours to go with our 'new and not improved' tiles, they said they would not do this/pay for it but they'd be very happy to give someone we employ ourselves access. I contacted the colour consultant they assigned to us for prestart, and she charges around $75 per hour. Unfortunately she was not available for the 'PCI' date. Compensation? Bah! Melsie68 Oh mal . Chin up xx Thanks, lovely, I remember you had a very positive experience with them during your build, but that things were a bit shakey at one stage! I'm glad to hear things have worked out well and are fixed to your satisfaction. You have such a beautiful home! I hope you and bambino-to-be are doing well x Re: Yanchep RedInk build: PCI Today at 9am..Wot? No Power? 1890Dec 01, 2015 9:00 am Mal I am speechless at that toilet pic.. that is just not right. I would be sending that through to management, along with a list of all the other areas you have been let down in. The issue with the tiles is unforgivable in my opinion, to miss out on your first selection and then find they have under ordered with the second?! Someone is clearly not doing their job right. Re: Yanchep RedInk build: PCI Today at 9am..Wot? No Power? 1891Dec 01, 2015 10:45 am Oh Mal, I am so sorry to hear that you are *still* having dramas with them. Redink really need to pull their heads in and make all of this right for you How ridiculous having PCI without the power switched on. And the tile issue? Just wow. Get it together guys! Re: Yanchep RedInk build: PCI Today at 9am..Wot? No Power? 1892Dec 01, 2015 1:34 pm Very disappointing Mal, I feel sad to see you are still having issues. You would think it has more than come to the point where they need to pull it together for you. So sorry to hear... I would be feeling exhausted from all the stress and worry, not very fair at all especially because you are so far away. My fingers are crossed that you have some positive news soon. Re: Yanchep RedInk build: PCI Today at 9am..Wot? No Power? 1893Dec 01, 2015 6:41 pm Thanks, mellianne kellie and jelbell - the mind well and truly boggles. You'd think word of mouth would be important to a company like RedInk. Wouldn't it have been wonderful if I could be here saying 'if you're an absent builder then use them - they're amazing and go out of their way to solve issues they know you can't as you're absent! They make it easy and stressfree!' Hmm Instead.... It is 28 hours since I sent the email asking for our build issues to be escalated, or an email of a senior manager. Instead.... nothing, not even an acknowledgement of the email and that they're looking into it or anything. I did find a missed call on my mobile phone when I was at work and in a meeting from the area manager I phoned 8 hours before and left a message for. His voicemail said he couldn't dial international numbers from his mobile. Not sure why he even bothered then, what was he going to do at that stage about the inspector that has been and gone. Anyway, I've had numerous private messages - thank you all for your support. And also thank you to the people who sent me email addresses of people I could forward it on to in RedInk. I will definitely use it. Re: Yanchep RedInk build: PCI Today at 9am..Wot? No Power? 1894Dec 01, 2015 6:49 pm Oh wow, you are certainly having to deal with a lot of crap from RedInk. I have been following your build and I hope that things get better really quickly. We chose our builder through word of mouth and I will be relating your story to anyone that I know that is thinking of building with RedInk. It certainly is not good enough, I'm so sorry that you are having to go through all this! Re: Yanchep RedInk build 1895Dec 01, 2015 11:13 pm I just had a friend who has had his slab laid in Gidgeganup, and I asked who the builder was. He said RedInk, I just replied with "All the best mate I hope it goes well for you!" Bit the tongue hard there as you never want to put that much disbelief in someones head at the very start of a build! With any luck, they get a wake up call from your build and no-one else has to endure the same bullocks you have! Re: Yanchep RedInk build 1896Dec 03, 2015 9:45 pm Hey Mal any luck?? Thanks guys - I don't have much in the way of progress to report - but I do have some positive news. Chris Thomas of RedInk (http://www.homeone.com.au/member/ct@ri) has offered to help escalate our issues. Thanks, Really appreciate it, Chris. We've had a few phone calls - from 3 different managers - all wanting to ensure our issues are looked into. So now we're waiting to see what is going to happen. Although they still sometimes seem to have a problem dialling internationally, we're hoping to get an action plan in our call on Monday morning - the time difference really is not helping. Apparently the tiling was due to be completed this week and the paving will have been corrected (was the wrong pavers, and not laid as wide as we'd paid extra for). The loo wasn't leaking, just cleaned around the rim to apply silicone According to the area manager the outside shower have had its correct tiles applied at the correct height (The plumbing and tiling was too low before, and had wet area tiles rather than the tiles we had to choose earlier in the year). He said he thought PCI was called too early, which is why the inspector's report said the house was not practically complete and found 100+ issues - although none of them massive/structural which is good I suppose. My folks have still not been. They've been asked to go sometime next week, hopefully a day / time to be confirmed in our Monday morning call. We've approached another inspector who we'll ask to go before handover - it is always good to have a second opinion. While we really want to trust that they want to do good by us, we're really hoping we won't be disappointed again. Action speaks louder than words, so I guess the next few weeks will tell. As I've said so many times before, it is how you fix issues that are most important as mistakes will sometimes happen. Oh - and communication - but that is sort of obvious Re: Yanchep RedInk build - Thanks, Chris :) 1898Dec 05, 2015 11:02 pm Oh Malsannie, what an awful time you have had. I am so sorry and i hope that Redink come through with their promises to smarten up. It is just not right that we all seem to have to fight so hard and every step of the way to get a good job done. It wont be too much longer now chick. Hang in there. x Re: Yanchep RedInk build - Thanks, Chris :) 1899Dec 05, 2015 11:06 pm ***big hugs*** _______________________ KEYYYSSS!! ~ 14/10/15 viewtopic.php?t=72518 Our Build: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=72518 Re: Yanchep RedInk build - Thanks, Chris :) 1900Dec 05, 2015 11:22 pm Thanks, lovely ladies - I'm honestly trusting (hoping?) things will work out now. I'm just a little bit hesitant to get my hopes up too high and then for it to be dashed again. We are starting to get excited about seeing the family though, although they probably won't be moved in by the time we arrive as we'd hoped, at least we'll get to see them on Christmas day. We'll be knackered from the travelling, but we'll be able to kick back and enjoy their company with a few glasses of wine which is always welcome hehe. 2 22927 I am about to replace rusted guttering and eventually paint the roof on my rental property. I would like to go with a medium grey (probably Basalt) colour and had planned… 0 7815 Thank you so much everyone. This all makes a lot of sense. I guess when you talk to a builder who butters up everything to look very polished, you get to start believing… 7 57356 |
