Just spent some time going through the last few pages and seen the progress, wow! It's been a while since I spent any time on this site and I'm blown away with how quickly things have popped up. Okay, tiles. We too didn't want to spend a fortune on tiling, money was better spent elsewhere. Bt we did tile our second bathroom 1m high all the way around the bathroom. It allowed us to carry the feature tile around the wall at mirror height. Cost us about $250 to do it and so glad we did. Really finishes off the bathroom. I say go for it, well worth the investment in making the change. And yes, if you have wet blotches on your eaves then get it looked at, would def think it might be a leak. But it could also be downpipes not coping with water and them backfilling inside the eaves. Just a thought. So glad it is all coming together for you, cant wait to see it finished! Re: Yanchep build: Soakwells installed 1352Aug 28, 2015 10:41 pm Wowzers look at that progress. Think you may be ahead of me again. My plasterers have just finished my place and skirting etc is being done. I dont have any photos of my own so i will keep looking at yours instead. Haha Re: Yanchep build: Soakwells installed 1353Aug 29, 2015 5:15 am ardie514 Pics look great. I think your laundry is same as ours, isn't it? Except we have a slider to outside instead of hinged door. If so it's deceivingly spacious! Will get you pics of tiling only in shower. Our layout is a bit different to yours. I do love having it but yes, you've got to draw a line at some point even when it's "only a little more $" . I think you'll all live happily ever after without it too Thanks, lovely, you've made me feel much better! Your linen is much deeper than mine but from your open floor space is also just a bit wider than a 820 door - thanks for that ardie514 Sorry quality not great. Our tiles are white and seem to blend pretty well with the light paint colours. *** snipped *** Your bathrooms are gorgeous thanks so much for the pics. I was right though you have light tiles I think it may look strange with black on off white if I only went high for the showers. I just wish I'd made everything 210 rather than 200 lol - then the shower rose would be a little bit higher! Re: Yanchep build: Soakwells installed 1354Aug 29, 2015 5:49 am Treeseachanger Missed my invite to the lock out party, just caught up. Love your laundry space!! Now to go back and read what's happened, you're making good progress! Thank you, it has been a bit surreal to be honest I'm hoping things will go smoothly we can do with a bit of luck! TraceyWayne Looking great Mals! They are really moving along for you. Ourmansion It's looking great Mal, love the kitchen bulkhead and the laundry storage too. I think you can add sliding doors to the theatre, can't you? AKB Mal it's all looking good and you will be surprised how much bigger the laundry will look after tiling is done livpal5 Wowzers look at that progress. Think you may be ahead of me again. My plasterers have just finished my place and skirting etc is being done. I dont have any photos of my own so i will keep looking at yours instead. Haha Hehe livpal - I know what you mean, but I'm very jealous of your visit soon to your house Can't wait for the photos either! Thanks Marcia - that means a lot coming from you It feels like it is going at a steady pace which is nice, so I just hope nothing happens to stop the momentum! Funny you should say that, in our main bathroom we will already have tiles up to 1m too with an extra mirror over the bath. To hopefully reflect some much needed light into the little room! I've decided to send an email to our CLO - she's forwarded it to the SS so hopefully they'll have a look. I'm looking forward to some more pics of your lovely home too x Re: Yanchep build: Soakwells installed 1356Aug 29, 2015 9:07 am Wow it's going so fast now! Seems like yesterday you were waiting for sign of movement on site and now you're practically finished!!!! Nice job on the soak wells! We're still doing ours, Dean's just done the front so we can get it landscaped then on to the back and sides. We hit rock so ours are as deep as they're gonna get! Don't stress about the ceiling outside your front door, you will never even notice it. Can't tell you that I've ever looked up at the ceiling in my porch except to put a light globe in... Looks great now comes the fun stuff- tiles and cabinets!!! Everything is gorgeous Mal, the laundry size is fine and if it's anything like ours will feel bigger again once the cabinets are in. You'll have plenty of room. You have really got me thinking about tiles now. I don't think we want to go full height but the 1m all round could be a goer! Look forward to some cabinetry pictures!! Re: Yanchep build: Cabinets in 1358Sep 01, 2015 5:45 pm Hi Guys and Gals, sorry I've not been around. My mum has been unwell, my sister took her to A&E on Sunday afternoon and she was eventually admitted and had an emergency appendectomy yesterday. The operation took a long time as it has ruptured but she's doing fine now even though she gave us such a fright! People of Joondalup hospital you're legends thank you It has been a bit of a chaotic time, my sister is due to go to the tile meeting on Thursday, but with this happening we'd not had time to talk it through and she may not be able to go anymore as my mum was going to do the school run! I'm waiting to hear from her so fingers crossed although I feel really guilty asking her as she's already had her routine thrown out now. Anyway, tiles aren't important at all in comparison - was really scared for Mum so very very relieved but kn@ckered as didn't sleep at all while waiting to hear she's ok!! Re: Yanchep build: Cabinets in 1360Sep 01, 2015 6:18 pm Sorry to hear about your mum, that's really awful I couldn't think of anything worse than having to wait to hear if everything is ok. You must be so relieved everything was ok in the end. I hope she recovers quickly. Hey everyone Not for me or anyone I know, just generally interested.
