Browse Forums Building A New House Re: HGWA - First Time Build eeep 18Jun 20, 2014 2:43 pm Hi, great floor plan! Love all the storage too. Upgrading to silk finish laminate isn't expensive and makes a huge difference to the look of the place. Costs depend on whether you upgrade all area (kitchen and bathrooms) but I would expect several hundred dollars unless you can talk your builder into a free upgrade! Upgrading to diamond gloss cupboards is thousands of dollars and not worth it in my opinion! Good luck Re: HGWA - First Time Build eeep 19Jun 20, 2014 9:03 pm Yes I agree silk finish is a great way to improve the look of your cabinetry without the hefty price tag. Although we did end up going for the full gloss look in the kitchen area only, it does look amazing but it is very very exxy!
