Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Potential quality issues 21May 28, 2014 6:49 pm Well I'm an unsure as I am not a concreter or chippy but I'm guessing that the people who do the formwork had the measurements a bit out and in turn has made the slab too small. The chippy seems to have gotten his measurements right and had to put his bolt for the bottom plate on such an angle to make sure it goes in to the concrete. So my guess would be that they might use the same solution with the grout here. But maybe someone with more expertise can answer your question more thoroughly. Re: Potential quality issues 22May 28, 2014 8:05 pm I think they poured the slab too short, the frame is pre-made according to the drawings I remember someone here said, so it should be concreter's fault If I was you I certainly would find someone prefessional to have a good look!, the slab underneath the post is already cracking..... All 3 items listed are defects and are of concern. Please seek qualified independent inspector and/or legal advice for your state. 1 8175 Thanks for your reply. I will just wait and see I guess.
