Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Byford Community Chat 22Jun 17, 2014 10:03 pm Hi Dream Home 2015 - building with Homestart in the Coral Gardens area of the Glades. Builders have estimated a brickie team on site in 2-3 weeks but who knows, sounds like there are delays all round! Had a nice surprise in the form of an $800 credit on my siteworks costs today, hopefully there will be some more as my $22k allowance was ridiculously steep. I am guessing a completion date of Jan/Feb next year at this rate Re: Byford Community Chat 23Jun 17, 2014 10:11 pm [quote="taminbyford"]Hi Dream Home 2015 - building with Homestart in the Coral Gardens area of the Glades. Re: Byford Community Chat 27Jun 20, 2014 12:51 am Nitro46 Hi guys, I'm building in the glades as well, in woodland grove. Slab will hopefully be going down in about 4 weeks so exciting times ahead! I went down to the block on the weekend for the first time in weeks and so much has happened, so many new slabs down and brickwork up it's great to see! Hi Nitro Nice to see you here, I am also building in woodland grove. Re: Byford Community Chat 28Jul 08, 2014 9:43 pm Hi Big Nath, any news on your build? I am still waiting for brickies, 7 weeks in Heard that a friend of a friend building through my builder has been told to start looking themselves after a 3 month wait, as they still can't guarantee a start date! Starting to get really worried Re: Byford Community Chat 29Jul 08, 2014 11:23 pm [quote="taminbyford"]Hi Big Nath, any news on your build? Slowest build around HD Re: Byford Community Chat 31Aug 16, 2014 10:16 pm Hi Big Nath - roof frame is up, plumbing connections/pipes seem to be finished and gutter/fascia done. Was hoping for some roof tiles to start this week but no luck! Heaps of tradies out in Woodland Grove when I drove past today, hopefully some at your block? Re: Byford Community Chat 32Aug 16, 2014 11:17 pm Oh good to hear. I have plate height meeting next week after I return to Australia I'm hoping roof frame goes up quickly. Re: Byford Community Chat 34Aug 22, 2014 5:39 pm What's the go with the fibre connection to the house, who installs it? I heard you can only go with Telstra. What was your costs etc? Re: Byford Community Chat 35Aug 22, 2014 6:01 pm Your builder should connect all the wires for you . So when Telstra come they connect it to the carport . In this little white box . The connection fee is around $200 but that I think is the phone connection . We only get Telstra here . Home Intell###gent today and said that. He told me that they connect it from the street to the house, with three points and hub in the garage for the low price of $2285 as a min. Lol I'm not made of money. I will just do it myself and run it back to a patch panel in the garage Re: Byford Community Chat 37Aug 22, 2014 7:18 pm Big Nath Melsie68 Your builder should connect all the wires for you . I had a quote meeting with Intelligent Homes today and its easy to see that their business model is to get you in for the quote then attempt to upsell upsell upsell. The fact they couldn't provide an email over phone/email already had me on the back foot with them. Long story short, Megamind are alot cheaper $800+ for a very similar layout.
