Browse Forums Building A New House 1 May 08, 2014 12:22 pm Ello ello,
I've decided to build myself a new house as a result of a few new circumstances. It was my Goal to buy an investment property this year and I was on track, then I met a beautiful young lady who lived a bit far away so I decided to move down closer to her. She just happened to be in a very nice area that had an awesome block of land just a short 600m stroll through a nice park to the beach. I was only toying with the idea until I saw the block of land and the price they were going for. All of a sudden I had plans drawn and contracts signed and a new puppy. The new house is on a 561m^2 block. 17 x 33m Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ This is just down the street to this beautiful beach Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ We have pretty much just taken everything we loved about the archer and redesigned the spare bedrooms down to a 3x2 with a home theater and study. I've currently got a 4x2 which in 3 years still had two bedrooms that haven't been used in the slightest. I figured we might need a third bedroom at some point but a fourth was just completely unnecessary and better used for home theater space. Here's the final layout. The way the ensuite opened up to the master bedroom just had this awesome luxury hotel feeling to it. Having an open wardrobe area was also a big selling point, it made the bedroom feel that much bigger and brighter. It also meant we could put a little ottomon in there for the better half to put her boots on in the mornings without waking me up The living area was just amazing! The alfresco doors are pillar less which makes the transition from living room to alfresco seamless and just adds a whole extra dimension to the room. Additions to that so far are adding a portico, moving the house to the left 100mm and adding 100mm to the garage, 1300 x 2800 ceaserstone island bench Stove top on the island bench with a smeg glass ragehood http://www.renoexchange.com.au/dbimages/bike/fn_large/305/100079305/large/MCSA047897_DWA09E750_def.jpg?201404171558 Cement slab in the alfresco instead of pavers so I can tile it after handover. overhead cupboards through the kitchen Sunken home theatre and a few other little items that I can't think of right now. I'm doing flooring and painting myself after handover. So far I am pretty much set on solid timber NSW blackbutt floors for the living area's and eco paddington 100 oz carpets for the bedrooms. Hope to hear a few comments and suggestions Re: Building Dale alcocks Archer in Dalyellup 4Jun 26, 2014 1:56 am Hi Meatbag, Great to hear someone is building the Archer from Dale Alcock. It is such a beautiful design whether it is internal or external. The flow of the house is great too. I am also planning to build the Archer and Dale Alcock's sales consultant will help me make adjustment on some of the design to suit my block which unfortunately is a little bit small. Do you plan to have your alfresco on the same height of your living ? Re: Building Dale alcocks Archer in Dalyellup 5Jun 27, 2014 12:25 am Hi Meatbag, Looking forward to following your build. We are building the Archipelego with Dale Alcock in Bull Creek. I also loved the Archer and your location looks fantastic! Re: Building Dale alcocks Archer in Dalyellup 6Jun 27, 2014 1:10 am Hi Meatbag. Looks like a beautiful part of the world. Look forward to following your progress. Any pictures of your puppy? Re: Building Dale alcocks Archer in Dalyellup 7Jun 27, 2014 10:27 am Looking forward to following your progress too. We originally started with the Archer but our design ended up being based on the long island... and radically modified... our sales consultant certainly had his work cut out for him. We have finally settled on the final plans. Done our pre start, signed the contracts and now just waiting for settlement to go through. Everything has been smooth sailing really and I seem to get the feeling that construction will be started very very soon. I am also building the Archer in Calleya Estate. Are you replicating all the upgrades of the display version ? Would love to hear your sharing. Cheers Re: Building Dale alcocks Archer in Dalyellup 11Jul 12, 2014 11:14 am Thanks mate. I think we almost replicated all of the display upgrades yeah. Probably a few extras as well.... Essentially we have taken the master bedroom and living areas from the Archer all fully upgraded and then re did the minor bedrooms to a much smaller size to fit it all in. Settlement is on the 31st this month. Re: Building Dale alcocks Archer in Dalyellup 13Aug 22, 2014 10:16 am I've had a lot of progress last break. Settlement went through as planned on the 31st July. Did you go with the pillar less corner where the sliding doors meet? The display we saw of this in Bletchley, i think it was, had beautiful dark glass doors on the Robes in the main bed. Spectacular.
