Seems that many of the people building houses on this forum are getting "package" houses from a large variety of builders.
This is probably like asking "how long is a piece of string?" but how environmentally friendly are these houses?
I'm keen to build in a couple of years and my gut tells me that to get a good quality, eco friendly house I'll need to go via an architect. My other perception is that these package houses (by there very nature) are mass produced and of only an OK standard to keep prices down... Am I anywhere near the mark on these thoughts?
And for those of you having these package houses built - was cost the main consideration in choosing one of these house designs rather than getting an architect to design? Or was it a simple case of convenience?
Appreciate your thoughts...
