Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Our Ben Trager build - Tile Selections :) 21Jun 11, 2014 10:07 pm I saw the feature in the byford display and really wanted the exact one but then it turned out there was a whole range of the same feature but styled differently and getting this version meant it wouldn't need to be cut and therefore cheaper Our build thread: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=70984 Re: Our Ben Trager build - Tile Selections :) 22Jun 11, 2014 10:56 pm Your tiles are lovely. Very similar to my own choices. My build: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=68002 Re: Our Ben Trager build - Tile Selections :) 23Jun 11, 2014 11:06 pm archetto Oh no I hope that doesn't happen, who did you get your tiles through? We had 3 balcony choices but when we were walking out we spotted that one, the balcony is my partners domain so i'll leave the choices on that up to him We went with Swan Ceramics. Our original selections were nearly a year ago. Hopefully yours will be built quicker than ours. We were lucky as we got the last few boxes (in the World) of the ones for the main bath/laundry/toilet otherwise we'd have had to re-select them too. The big delay between selection and the tile shop ordering probably did us a favour. The gloss black porcelain ones we'd originally picked have had lots of problems with scratches and have been discontinued. Our tiling should be starting soon so hopefully we'll get our order processed quickly. Re: Our Ben Trager build - Tile Selections :) 24Jun 11, 2014 11:16 pm The lady at Swan Ceramics was so lovely and helpful, I felt really bad that they didn't have anything that suited what we wanted and that we had pretty much made out mind up at Imported Ceramics (and the 1 at Crosby). Highly recommend them for customer services and they throw in a lot of feature tiles and bigger tiles for standard price/included range. Just want our build to start now should have pre-start soon!! Look forward to seeing your tiles come together OWF. Your cabinet colour and feel looks almost exactly what my OH has picked. Maybe I should add "for now"! Our build thread [url]https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?t=71492/url] Prestart: 18/7/14 Final plans: 13/8/14 Building permit: 30/9/14 Re: Our Ben Trager build - Tile Selections :) 26Jun 12, 2014 1:17 pm No bench is white truffle, the crystal salt looked too white with our colours, the white truffle is more off white, and had more stone/sparkly stones Our build thread: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=70984 Re: Our Ben Trager build - Tile Selections :) 29Jun 18, 2014 5:08 pm Thanks! I love it already, can't wait for this time next year when it should hopefully be finished or close to it I don't think our block is big enough to subdivide but we wouldn't anyway, we bought it so we could have a big backyard and room for a big shed, my partner likes his toys Maybe a pool down the track, at least there is room for whoever buys it later! We ended up having 74% open space! You need to post your plans ErinMarie Our build thread: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=70984 Re: Our Ben Trager build - Tile Selections :) 30Jun 19, 2014 12:36 pm Signed our final plans today and variation sheets, off to costing for us and the long wait to find out how much damage we have done! Our build thread: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=70984 Re: Our Ben Trager build - Tile Selections :) 31Jun 25, 2014 6:07 pm These are our 'final' plans we signed off on, pending of course council approval (pretty screwed if they don't accept them!) We're going to fit out the laundry and scullery after handover, and going to do our own bulk heads in the theatre to recess the rest of the ceiling as my partner is a chippy and wants to do it/save funds. Our build thread: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=70984 Re: Our Ben Trager build - Final Plans :) 32Jun 25, 2014 7:34 pm That's a good looking design. The front elevation looks fantastic. What are the render colours going to be? Re: Our Ben Trager build - Final Plans :) 33Jun 25, 2014 8:09 pm No idea yet haha..nah we want to base it off one of the displays in the grey (probably Baldivis one) just haven't worked out where to put each shade yet. Our build thread: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=70984 Re: Our Ben Trager build - Final Plans :) 35Jun 26, 2014 6:46 pm Sure, it is the Steffen (they also have a trevion which is very similar) Changes we made were - Added theatre - Extended alfresco - Added scullery - Added balcony - Reduced activity room size due to balcony - Extended ensuite out to make double vanity/double shower - Swapped linen cupboard into dead space next to laundry - Extended laundry bench - Added store room under stairs - Changed front door to 1200mm Kitchen is different due to scullery And obviously flipped the design also Our build thread: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=70984 Re: Our Ben Trager build - Final Plans :) 36Jun 26, 2014 8:47 pm Looks like an excellent layout. The living area is huge. BLOG: http://www.ourphoenix38.blogspot.com.au H1 THREAD: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=70454 Re: Our Ben Trager build - Final Plans :) 37Jun 26, 2014 10:57 pm Elevation looks great. Have you got different width EPS cladding? If that's the case, that will give it a bit of depth, a bit like ours with the hardiflex. And the store under the stairs is a no brainer (check our thread with photo of this space now complete). I know you've worked out where we are... I'm pretty sure your building on same street as good friends of ours. Look forward to following. My Thread (Halls Head Beach House): viewtopic.php?f=31&t=67006 Re: Our Ben Trager build - Final Plans :) 38Jun 27, 2014 12:10 am Are your friends building with Ultimate Homes? No idea on the cladding, we don't have any estate requirements so don't need to do anything with it with different materials etc tho Our build thread: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=70984 Re: Our Ben Trager build - Final Plans :) 39Jun 27, 2014 8:39 am Wow, fantastic plans. Looks a bit like the Trevion in reverse, but super alfresco space there! Are u getting bth to put a bench in the scullery or will u do that after? But we plan on entertaining a fair bit so was a worth while addition. How is yours progressing Ronfire? Our build thread: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=70984 "Losers" "humanity" "off time" "your" "top notch" "love symbol" Sounds like ponzo is done using other people's toilets 36 23830 Thank you so much everyone. This all makes a lot of sense. I guess when you talk to a builder who butters up everything to look very polished, you get to start believing… 7 17199 |
