Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Our Ben Trager Build - KEYS!! Floor sneak peak :) 2201Dec 13, 2015 8:01 pm Yeah having the same over the sliding door just haven't managed to get around to it yet Unfortunately our upper floor slab is soo out of level we haven't been able to lay the floor and it needed to be done before the carpet is laid tomorrow..stressed! To give you an idea, the left hand side of the level is sitting flat! Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Then as we were prepping the floor to screed it we went to take the manhole door off and found it had been liquid nailed to the hinge?! What a do*gy tradesman, so now the door will need replacing too Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Sigh... Our Ben Trager Build - KEYS!! Floor sneak peak :) 2202Dec 13, 2015 8:29 pm Oh god! That same thing happened to our floor. Do you remember we needed to get someone in to screen and grind it all flat. Such a nightmare as their machines took half our paint off too that's hell bad about the door bloody BT! I would never build with them after seeing your issues unfold. They must use crap trades people hey! First Build, Commodore Homes, Honeywood, Wandi. viewtopic.php?t=77170 Re: Our Ben Trager Build - KEYS!! Floor sneak peak :) 2203Dec 13, 2015 8:34 pm Yeah I remember! Such a pain. Now we have to pay the carpet people $250 to come back and finish off the carpet at the door ways as we can't have the bamboo in, in time now. Floor sneak peak :) 2205Dec 13, 2015 9:52 pm How *******, that cover wouldn't of been any good even if they used screws, you can't screw into the side of particle board, that cover to support fixing to a hinge would need to have had been made out if something a bit more solid, what crappy things to find in your new house.. Re: Our Ben Trager Build - KEYS!! Floor sneak peak :) 2206Dec 13, 2015 10:39 pm OMG. Incorrectly hung door and a floor that is so unlevel. What has BTH said about that? Surely that is not within tolerances. They must have to rectify that. Was the grano team on a lean the day they screeded that!!! I can't believe you are still uncovering issues. House looks great, hang in there. I'm taking a level to PCI2 Tuesday. Re: Our Ben Trager Build - KEYS!! Floor sneak peak :) 2207Dec 13, 2015 11:05 pm The screws they did use are huge too so they really went to town, then figured that wasn't gonna hold so went the liquid nails too! Hopefully our SS comes out tomorrow for a look as we don't want to screed the floor until they see it for themselves. We've circled all the uneven areas and there are quite a few.. Sheers finished in the main living, gotta buy some more to go upstairs Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Our build thread: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=70984 Re: Our Ben Trager Build - KEYS!! Floor sneak peak :) 2209Dec 13, 2015 11:31 pm Your sheers look lovely, arch, can't believe the workmanship though How on earth do they manage to get the floors so uneven? The door is just shocking Re: Our Ben Trager Build - KEYS!! Floor sneak peak :) 2210Dec 13, 2015 11:38 pm Sheer look nice. Did you have it custom made? What a crappy job on the door and floor. You should give that Supervisor a blasting. Take photes and display them at their display home title BT quality works hahaha. I always keep an eye on my house to see if the trademen did a good job or not. Sometime I popped in and out 3 times a day. Only 3 mins drive from where I live. Re: Our Ben Trager Build - KEYS!! Floor sneak peak :) 2211Dec 13, 2015 11:43 pm They are just off the shelf from freedom! $40 each and I got them 30% off too. Thanks guys it is pretty poor and then we looked up.... You should demand them to fix it. If they don't, take pictures and stand out their display home so all of their potential customers can see BT quality work.
Re: Our Ben Trager Build - KEYS!! Floor sneak peak :) 2213Dec 14, 2015 2:41 am icywater - what a great idea. Maybe people should start an 'alternative display village' route. Re: Our Ben Trager Build - KEYS!! Floor sneak peak :) 2214Dec 14, 2015 9:46 am I can't believe some of the workmanship. Are they serious? You shouldn't be finding c*ap like this. I would be asking for them to fix the ceilings. It's not good enough for the amount of money you pay. Re: Our Ben Trager Build - KEYS!! Floor sneak peak :) 2215Dec 14, 2015 10:03 am I know, we should, but the thought of having them here for a week replacing it and then all the mess, inconvenience and the lack of respect our floors would get makes me cringe. I'll certainly show the SS the photos tho and see what he says. It's a shame this is something you can't see during the day only at night with lights on so we could never pick it up before hand Our build thread: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=70984 Re: Our Ben Trager Build - KEYS!! Floor sneak peak :) 2216Dec 14, 2015 10:21 am Oh my goodness archetto, you shouldn't be coming across more problems now that you have moved in! Will be interesting to see what your SS comes back with. Your sheers look stunning!!!! Love the colour... looking forward to seeing them all up! Re: Our Ben Trager Build - KEYS!! Floor sneak peak :) 2217Dec 14, 2015 11:43 am I know it will be a massive inconvenience to have them come and fix it, but it really needs to be done. You shouldn't have to accept a sub-standard job and it will annoy you further down the track. Keep me posted on what your SS has to say about it.. Floor sneak peak :) 2218Dec 14, 2015 12:09 pm So sorry to hear about all the trouble you are having! Cant believe they liquid nailed to door! Thats terrible, hopefully they level the floor for you no cost! Our building journey: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=76935 Re: Our Ben Trager Build - KEYS!! Floor sneak peak :) 2219Dec 14, 2015 12:34 pm Thanks guys, our lovely SS was here this morning, it's not his fault so we don't blame him at all he's been the best SS to date and is now working to fix everyone else's mistakes, he's been great. He's ordered a new door and it's getting fitted this Arvo, he's also getting someone out to inspect our ceilings but believes they are probably within the building standards tolerance but we shall see when the guy has a look. Re the unlevel floor he's going to look into if the builder will supply someone to screed it or it might in tolerance too, and going to see if the builder will reimburse us the cost we will incur from our carpet layers for having to come back and join the floor in the doorways as our bamboo couldn't go in, in time. So I guess we shall see! Lights are being hung right now and carpets shortly so photos soon Our build thread: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=70984 Re: Our Ben Trager Build - KEYS!! Floor sneak peak :) 2220Dec 14, 2015 1:00 pm Far out! My mouth was actually hanging open in disbelief when I saw that picture of your floor. And your ceiling! I am in shock! I really hope you get everything sorted out soon. "Losers" "humanity" "off time" "your" "top notch" "love symbol" Sounds like ponzo is done using other people's toilets 36 23922 Thank you so much everyone. This all makes a lot of sense. I guess when you talk to a builder who butters up everything to look very polished, you get to start believing… 7 17629 |
