And 3 times is ridiculous hey. 3 times in 10 years even, omg. TiredHalo thank you, hubby has a double garage and a 7 bay shed now so trying to fit all his favourite toys at the new place. We are putting a triple carport on front too and the garage is 7.5 m deep to accommodate the car trailer and some benches. Boys and their toys hehe. I love the big garage and carport idea, look forward to seeing it all come together. Help with ensuite desi 26May 21, 2014 10:01 am Has anyone got any ideas on how we could better plan the ensuite? We have extended to under eaves to get some more space in there. I'd rather the entry from the bedroom than through the WIR. Does anyone have an ensuite entry through the WIR and how have you found it? Otherwise, how could I improve the layout please? Shower is hobless and must have an 820mm door for wheelchair access. Would love to fit a double vanity too if I could. Bath is 1800 plus the podium surround. Emma Knock Down Rebuild with Clarendon Re: Our knock down rebuild adventure. Help with ensuite desi 27May 22, 2014 1:44 am Do you have a clearer picture of the ensuite? When I zoomed in on your floor plan it got a bit fuzzy and I wasn't sure what was where. How wide is the total space including the walk in robe? Or how wide is your bedroom as that's the same width? Re: Our knock down rebuild adventure. Help with ensuite desi 28May 22, 2014 1:13 pm I couldn't see the existing design well either, but have you considered having a long built-in wardrobe rather than a WIR (might be awkward with the chair) so you can make the ensuite wider? You can play with bathroom layouts on the reece website, it's pretty easy Re: Our knock down rebuild adventure. Help with ensuite desi 29May 25, 2014 11:17 pm Hi Emandrob In respect to your ensuite design could you possibly remove the bathtub completely. This would give you the room you require for wheelchair access - could even make room for a larger shower. My brother in-law who is in a wheel chair has recently built (not with Coral though) and I know that he requested quite a few changes. He made all the hallways wider and obvious things like bench top heights and light switch heights were taken into consideration. Hubby and I are currently building with Coral ourselves - as far as I know they are very accommodating with changes up until contract signing. Re: Our knock down rebuild adventure. P soil tests. :( 30May 25, 2014 11:56 pm PanRaptor Hey there, ...... If you have Windows 7 by any chance, there is a thing called "Snipping Tool" which is the best thing ever. It's a manipulable screenshot tool. You just drag over the area you want to snip - super easy. And you can save straight to JPEG. All ready to upload! Hope that helps Wow that is so helpful, been using Windows 7 for ages now and didn't know about this Re: Our knock down rebuild adventure. Help with ensuite desi 31May 26, 2014 12:22 am Hi Emma - I'm sorry to hear about your health. Your positive attitude is lovely to see though, and being proactive and planning for the future now is the best thing you can do for yourself. I can just about make out your ensuite design, like others have suggested I'd consider losing either the tub or the WIR or both! We'll not have either in our master bedroom, they take up so much space. I guess to make it wheelchair accessible would mean the WIR needed to be extra wide too? I'm sure you have gathered lots of info already so this may be redundant, but I've recently seen this on Dale Alcock's (a builder in WA) website about accessible build: http://www.dalealcock.com.au/The-Dale-A ... ble-Homes/ I can't wait to see your build - fingers crossed for the auction (and the site works) Re: Our knock down rebuild adventure. Help with ensuite desi 32May 26, 2014 12:52 pm Hi everyone, this is our current ensuite layout. I will have to swap the bath and shower because the ensuite is extended to under eaves and I don't want the bulkhead through the shower. This means though that the towel rails, which will be placed on the wall adjacent to the toilet, will be at the other end of the ensuite to the shower. Is this going to be very annoying? Thanks! Help with ensuite desi 33May 26, 2014 12:56 pm Oh and thanks for the link MalSannie! I don't want to loose the tub because soaking in a nice warm bath is so soothing for the aching muscles. I am considering it therapy! The wir hall part is 1200 wide, should be easily accessible. Emma Knock Down Rebuild with Clarendon Re: Our knock down rebuild adventure. Help with ensuite desi 34May 26, 2014 6:43 pm Can totally understand wanting to soak in the bath! You've actually got a lovely big ensuite there. I think it would be a bit annoying getting out of the shower with towels far away - especially in winter! How about something like this - as the shower door handle maybe? It would be low enough to reach using a wheelchair: http://www.houzz.com/photos/3527448/stainless-steel-shower-accessories-contemporary-towel-bars-and-hooks-other-metro Overdoor hooks like these http://www.ryansdirect.co.uk/main/product/productinfo/1072 could work too, but it would be too high to reach from a seated position I'd think You also look at free standing towel rails in front of the window like these http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/8326030.htm Re: Our knock down rebuild adventure. Help with ensuite desi 35May 26, 2014 8:36 pm Oh thanks, I'm liking those hooks! The shower will be swapped with the bath to avoid the bulkhead so there isn't room for a freestanding towel rail at that end. Thanks for the ideas! Emma Knock Down Rebuild with Clarendon Re: Our knock down rebuild adventure. Help with ensuite desi 36May 26, 2014 9:19 pm Hi Emma It is a bit hard without exact measurements of everything in the ensuite but wonder if this would work? (and whether I can explain it well enough) Leave the toilet and basins where they are. Move the bath to where the shower is and have the bath run under the window/along the external wall. Move the shower into the bottom left corner of the above floorplan so that it shares a wall with the WIR and the bedroom. Enclose the WIR access. Make the ensuite access from the bedroom between the bath and the shower. (I am not sure without exact measurements whether this leaves 820 for the door?) Have one towel rack on the wall where you have just enclosed the WIR. Have another towel rack on the back of the ensuite door which will open out towards the bath. Does that fit? Re: Our knock down rebuild adventure. Help with ensuite desi 37May 26, 2014 9:51 pm Hi, yes we did try to do that but the bath doesn't leave enough room for the cavity slider for the toilet. Ill get some measurements and post tomorrow. Thanks for that though, that's what I need, suggestions! Emma Knock Down Rebuild with Clarendon Re: Our knock down rebuild adventure. Help with ensuite desi 38Jun 15, 2014 4:45 pm Hmmmm we may be swapping builders. Just got our tender letter and it is almost $40k more than our original estimates. A whopping $9k in site management charges because our build is on a busy road. Considering going back to hallmark and modifying the ascent 250. Emma Knock Down Rebuild with Clarendon Re: Our knock down rebuild adventure. Help with ensuite desi 39Jun 16, 2014 6:54 am Oh no what a bummer Before you switch though make sure the other builders won't charge you for the same reasons. I hate surprises like that, not sure how people are meant to budget? Hope you get something sorted soon Re: Our knock down rebuild adventure.
