Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Apr 30, 2014 1:58 pm Hi Everyone,
Me and my wife are building our first house in Smithfield Plains, SA. It took a while for the contract period to finish and go on to the next stage which is the build process itself. Based on what I have been reading in these forums, the contract period normally is from 4 to 6 months, but because we traverse differently, ours ended up being 11 months in total. Yes, 11 months of gruelling wait. And with this, we can say that our patience has been already tested and become a better person, I should say. During those 11 months, every step along the way, we noticed that there is always a stumbling block. But we were glad that every issues has been resolved amicably. To cut the long story short, we are very happy that we surpassed all those challenges and now more than excited on our next step---which is the build process. Our Release to Construct was last 17th of April 2014 and up until now no activity has been happening. I will be posting pictures of our selections and the floor plan soon when I get used to navigating this site. Please bear with me. On the business side of things, can anyone recommend an electrician who can assist us with our LED lighting? Another thing is that we need security doors to our entrance, laundry and alfresco. Crimsafe or Invisiguard? Which one is cheaper, and which one can you guys recommend? Any suggestions will be much appreciated.
