Other things (air conditioning, feature lights, window treatments, garden etc.) can come in time and won't prevent you from living in your lovely new home. In my opinion, it's worth the extra cost to avoid the extra stress. Also, when you have contractors coming through afterwards you're responsible for cleaning up after them - for example our floor guys have damaged door frames and painted walls. It's an unavoidable side effect of them having to do their job, but if was all done by the builder we wouldn't have to even worry about it. Instead, we'll be repainting door frames and touching up walls!
