Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Apr 25, 2014 10:25 am I am considering replacing my freestanding wood heater with a larger unit and have read up on Quadra Fire. Specification looks pretty impressive. Does anyone have experience with it? I bought it Hobart from Heffernan's (no nonsense great service) and had it installed in my cottage (great installer). It's just beautiful, does a great job and looks good too. I enjoy roasting my chestnuts on it's surface. So far I am using less timber than I did with a smaller heater and it lasts about twice as long before top ups. I think I got it positioned in the right place Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ http://i1321.photobucket.com/albums/u559/brankom10/DSC_8931_zps16fd93df.jpg Foremost Building Expert in Australia, assisting with building problems/disputes, building stage inspections,pre-contract review advice for peace of mind 200 blogs http://www.buildingexpert.net.au/blog Re: Quadra Fire wood heater? 3Jun 06, 2014 4:03 pm very nice! we would love an in wall heater in our new home, but I know once we crunch numbers it'll be thrown right out the window again lol. But its always so much easier to put them in before rather then after! Love yours and your view is AMAZING. Re: Quadra Fire wood heater? 4Jun 06, 2014 4:19 pm Thanks LaceyM We were a bit cold last winter but now with a bigger heater and retrofitted ceiling insulation, bring it on. Good things are worth waiting for, I probably have few decades on you so don't worry, the best things will come to you. I went to Primrose Sands when I was in high school because my best friend's parents had a shack there. It didn't look like that! When you were there it didn't. It started off as shack in seventies and became derelict, someone torched it. Someone rebuilt it and about 12 years ago large lounge with panoramic windows was added on. Apart from minor repairs and maintenance I did nothing to it. It's perfect. http://i1321.photobucket.com/albums/u559/brankom10/img_0024copy_1copy2_zpsbb9889c1.jpg Foremost Building Expert in Australia, assisting with building problems/disputes, building stage inspections,pre-contract review advice for peace of mind 200 blogs http://www.buildingexpert.net.au/blog Re: Quadra Fire wood heater? 8Jun 07, 2014 7:14 am Agent_009 Looks great! If you don't mind me asking, what did the heater cost including installation? Shoot me a PM if you'd rather. Thanks! I don't mind sharing, it was just under 4K including the unit , flue kit and the installation.
