Re: What did you do after handover? 28May 02, 2014 6:32 pm First build: Flooring Gravel driveway (in a rural town and the house itself was on an unsealed road) fencing Split system a/c Light fittings Curtains & blinds Dishwasher Feature walls letterbox I was 20 years old at the time, ran out of money and had a relationship breakdown soon after the build. The outside was never finished off, had plans for some sort of a garden other than just the dirt and a side entertaining area. It ended up being sold as being complete on the inside and a "project" for the outside. I was just lucky that prices rose in that time and we were able to make a $40k profit just by building it! Very lucky to sell it for nearly $50k more than it owed us, less some fees & charges and we were able to bail out, split the $$ and not be too burned ... Good old 2007! This time: Flooring Concrete Driveway and side paths Rainwater tank Stormwater piping & connection fencing Deck and Verandah 2 pendant lights outside lighting Curtains & blinds Dishwasher WIR fit out (just using cube shelving units - they work a treat) letterbox Turf to the backyard backyard garden beds and planting river pebble front yard and planting The only thing the builder is really doing beyond the "normal" build is the ducted air con & downlights. The rest we are pretty much doing after handover... It seems I am a sucker for punishment and am going for round 2!
