Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Apr 21, 2014 9:33 pm House build process of our first home
My fiancé and I are building our first house in Shorehaven in Alkimos. It is a bit far from the city but is shaping up to be a really nice suburb. We signed up back in March 2013 and got our titles in November 2013. It's now April 2014 and we are still waiting for any kind of building to commence. It feels like we have been waiting forever! We are building with Aussie Living homes and have found them to be very friendly and helpful, just a lot slower than other companies. Another house on our street got their titles the same time as us and had walls up in December 2013 and another house on our street is also up to this stage now. Our floor plan is based on The Thompson Bay and the exterior is based on The Revelation. Our Land is 12.52m across by 31.23m back (total 387m²) We are doing a few upgrades/modifications: Essa Stone bench tops (included) 900mm oven and range hood (included) Higher ceiling Larger floor tiles 450mmx450mm Increased size of Bed 3 and 4 Increased size of laundry so we can fit a dryer in there too Changed the carport into a garage with storage at the back Sink upgrades in bathroom and ensuite Sink and tap upgrades in Kitchen Carpet upgrade Showers changed to semi frameless with door. Towel rail upgrades Door handle upgrades Increased kitchen bench size Also other small modifications like moving tap locations, moving data points etc. Re: Our house build with Aussie Living Homes 3Apr 21, 2014 9:54 pm Re: Our house build with Aussie Living Homes 4Apr 21, 2014 10:05 pm Floor tile 450cmx450cm throughout all the house except bathrooms and bedrooms

Re: Our house build with Aussie Living Homes 12Apr 21, 2014 11:56 pm thank you Only just found this site... It seems really useful! Re: Our house build with Aussie Living Homes 13Apr 22, 2014 12:53 am Love your selections . Love your floor tiles . I wonted something like that but partner chose polish porslin . They are quite light but I'm hoping when all layed together will look a bit darker . Going to hate the light grout though . We have gone with the same exterior colours but our main render darker . But the same as your portico colour .i also think we have the same tile in our ensuite as you . I bet you can't wait for everthing to come together . Enjoy the ride Re: Our house build with Aussie Living Homes 14Apr 22, 2014 8:34 am where are you building? you seen to know what you want or have you just done prestart? it wasn't until prestart did I know what we were having! my husband and I both liked you main floor tile Re: Our house build with Aussie Living Homes 15Apr 22, 2014 9:59 am Love your selection, I'm building with Aussie as well.
