I love have loved to gone through the builder, but hubby doesn't like how they add $$$$ on top of what it costs Yes, looking through what is itemised in our price, there are some things that seem to be very expensive. We have a cabinet maker that we can use later and we know what finish we want. It makes sense from a cost perspective, but it just means that there is work to be done post handover. The other consideration is that any work done after handover is not covered by the builders warrant. Could get messy of there were issues with the cabinet work due to poor walls moving because of foundations. The blame game would start.
