Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Apr 15, 2014 6:30 pm Hi Just a quick question - just wondering how long you have had to wait from slab down to brick work beginning? So far we are sitting at 6 weeks and we are well and truly over it!! Keep getting told its due to a shortage of brickies etc etc & I do understand that there is a high demand atm but we have had 3 start dates and so far nothing has started - sounds like poor scheduling to me. I would love to hear your wait time please. Thankyou Re: 101 Residential - How long have you waited?? 2Apr 15, 2014 6:46 pm from what most people say on this site 4-6 weeks Re: 101 Residential - How long have you waited?? 3Apr 15, 2014 7:39 pm All builders are experiencing delays some far more than than that I was lucky at 4.5 weeks with 101. Maybe you could share your build with us on your second post 101 Residential in Burns Beach viewtopic.php?f=31&t=67711 Shire Approval 31.12.13 Slab Down 15.02.14 Moved in 14.10.14 Re: 101 Residential - How long have you waited?? 4Apr 15, 2014 8:24 pm Our brickies finally started yesterday. R34 "Maybe you could share your build with us on your second post" If only I had something worthwhile to say I would, so far not such a great experience & rather than run a company down thought I would just ask this question politely first. Wow arauch 9 weeks 3 days I couldn't imagine the frustration at that stage! We were told today its going to be another 2 week wait so that will put us upto around 9 weeks from slab down. Guess there's not much we can do but wait... & hope the rain stays away! Hopefully I will be in with our story sooner rather than later. Charlie23 - I hope your build flys by from here on in! Thankyou Re: 101 Residential - How long have you waited?? 9May 20, 2014 1:41 am we prob waited for 4 weeks as we needed to do the retaining wall first . Re: 101 Residential - How long have you waited?? 10May 20, 2014 1:43 am i found the supervisor makes different! we are with our 3rd supervior now, our second one was too young and the tradies marked around and pushed him over too much. big delay with that supervisor. hope yours is going smooth Re: 101 Residential - How long have you waited?? 11May 20, 2014 2:14 am Btown So far we are sitting at 6 weeks and we are well and truly over it!! If you are getting over it as this stage, it's probably going to be a very painful build for you... things seemed to move very slowly at times and then really quickly at other times. We waited about 6 weeks for brickies (and ended up coordinating family friends to take the job for 101). Hopefully things have kicked off now given this post was a month ago - and maybe you'd like to consider sharing your build in a thread? Yeah good points! Leaning towards Option 3 to get a bit extra space in the cabinets but not going too crazy high (and expensive). Would require a mini… 13 40120 Congratulations!
