Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Henley Homes 2461Jan 24, 2017 6:43 pm SS told me they're moving from A&L to Stegbar. Apparently the former can't keep up with their orders. Latter's inferior in quality as it doesn't have the rubber sealing on the windows so it will need to be caulked which looks messy. They're also replacing the standard light switches and they're crappier as mentioned by our SS and electrician. Re: Henley Homes 2462Jan 25, 2017 7:21 am We have both A&L and Stegbar windows and they all have caulking around them. I'm not sure why a SS is telling customers that they would be going to use crappy switches from now on in all houses. Henley standard switches are Clipsal from a particular range. I remember this range is mentioned in all paperwork. What you are saying either Henley has changed brand or its product range or clipsal has dropped its range quality? Re: Henley Homes 2463Feb 24, 2017 1:56 pm So we have paid our second deposit and received our portal login. However we have been advised that we wont be receiving an admin for a little while as there is a back log. Our block is meant to be titling in June however they seem to be ahead of schedule and my estate has been known to be releasing everything early at the moment! Our aim is to have everything ready to go so that when we title we can start building straight away. The aim is to have the house finished before our wedding, end of march 2018... Last time we built with henley things seemed to run a lot better. Now that they have this portal and a new way of doing things it seems that everything is going to take longer Re: Henley Homes 2464Mar 11, 2017 10:18 am Hello everyone! Was hoping to get your opinions re Austral Praline bricks with natural grey mortar? I've been looking around and almost all I've seen has the white/off-white mortar. Worried natural mortar won't look good with light colored bricks. Re: Henley Homes 2465Mar 11, 2017 10:38 am mirz We have both A&L and Stegbar windows and they all have caulking around them. Clipsal have discontinued the line Henley uses from the 31st of December. The new switches look different but are easy to customise and new technology will mean you can easily upgrade to "smart" switches in the near future. White is standard, but you easily change the faceplate to four other colours. http://www.clipsal.com/iconic Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: Henley Homes 2466Apr 02, 2017 5:16 pm Hello all! Question to all Sahara builders out there. Is there really no eaves for the living room roof at the backyard and the roof over the back garage door? Display house at Woodlea and drawings agree with this but was just wondering. Thanks! I've got answers from our tender appointments. Adding eaves can be done at a cost. Mainly they(Henley) don't do it because they'd have to add eaves a bit at the sides as well and that would make it look like an unfinished job. So your house has eaves to only part of it? Or do you have to pay extra to add eaves altogether? Re: Henley Homes 2469Apr 03, 2017 12:05 pm Hi pri7780! Was just referring to the roof for over the rear garage door and the roof over the living room to the back. Re: Henley Homes 2470Apr 05, 2017 12:11 pm voltairevi Ok for those also interested. Did they give you a rough cost of this? as I did not realise this was the case and I think I would like to have eaves the whole way around! Re: Henley Homes 2471Apr 05, 2017 2:34 pm Oh sorry I didn't. I could ask. I'll report back once I get an update. Darbecca said pre slab, frame (as they inspect the slab here) and pre plaster to ensure that the frame issues have been rectified. They did say to also do the water proofing and fixtures inspection, but my main concern are the structural bits and pieces, cosmetic things can be fixed later!
