We had a hold up with the toilet, door frames, skip etc. It also looks like we only have one brickie too - hopefully you get more! Re: Building with New Generation @ Harrisdale, WA - Slab Dow 22Aug 28, 2014 11:10 pm Updates on my side: 1) Today I met with brickies as the work is going at fine pace. 2) Also changed the independent inspector to Prospec from Houspect Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Building with New Generation @ Heron Park, Harrisdale, WA My Build: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=70662&p=1167117#p1167117 Re: Building with New Generation @ Harrisdale, WA - Slab Dow 23Aug 28, 2014 11:10 pm The Turleys - We got 4 brickies Building with New Generation @ Heron Park, Harrisdale, WA My Build: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=70662&p=1167117#p1167117 Re: Building with New Generation @ Harrisdale, WA - Slab Dow 24Aug 29, 2014 9:59 am Avenger The Turleys - We got 4 brickies You're flying past us! Our brickie doesn't work on Wednesdays and yesterday we only had two. I suppose it takes longer for us too as we have 1c bricks. Looking good! Re: New Generation @ Heron Park, WA - Brickwork Completed 25Sep 11, 2014 5:20 am The brickwork is completed for us Below are few pics of front elevation, alfresco and kitchen Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Building with New Generation @ Heron Park, Harrisdale, WA My Build: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=70662&p=1167117#p1167117 Re: New Generation @ Heron Park, WA - Brickwork Completed 26Sep 11, 2014 9:27 am Looking good the elevation is nice. Like the face bricks there Re: New Generation @ Heron Park, WA - Bricklayer Completed 27Sep 11, 2014 5:07 pm So avenger I read about that Slab non conformance you wrote about in another thread that your independent inspector wrote about. You said you were checking with your SS. what happened with that? Was it allright? Re: New Generation @ Heron Park, WA - Bricklayer Completed 28Sep 11, 2014 8:26 pm Pradi - I spoke to SS Manager and he told Summit Homes has a different style of laying down slabs which is across all the builds. In short they have different style of laying slab but it is fine. With regards to our carpet, I upgraded beds 2-4 to Medusa with super green underlay. I think that was a couple up from the basic and as they are mainly kids rooms I wanted something a little tougher. I upgraded the master bed and theatre to Kensington. It's nice and plush and fluffy which is what I wanted. They cost $1850 for the upgrades, we upgraded our laminate too, that was cheaper to upgrade. Re: New Generation @ Heron Park, WA - Bricklayer Completed 30Sep 13, 2014 11:08 am I have signed up with New Gen as well, but due to the lengthy delays to our land we won't start building till April next year. Did they charge you extra for the feature bricks at the front? And did you get your flooring included? Are there any things you would recommend we put on our contract before we sign it? Re: New Generation @ Heron Park, WA - Bricklayer Completed 31Sep 13, 2014 11:03 pm Hi The Turley, Thanks. As you are having super wall and single brick it will take little longer than ours. We should be happy as waiting time for brickies is almost 2 months across many builders. We are not going through builder for carpets. So far we have short listed Eversoft Stainmaster SDN Goulburn with gold foam underlay. It is costing us 4100/-for all study, all 4 bedrooms, WIR and theatre. Not sure is that expensive or a good price Regards, AB Building with New Generation @ Heron Park, Harrisdale, WA My Build: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=70662&p=1167117#p1167117 Re: New Generation @ Heron Park, WA - Bricklayer Completed 32Sep 13, 2014 11:09 pm Hi Tsmith, No we have not paid additional for the feature brick as it was part of the design. We are doing the flooring, window treatment and aircon externally. I will say all promises from sales person should be included in your contract. Otherwise NewGen is a transparent and a ethical builder. Re: New Generation @ Heron Park, WA - Bricklayer Completed 34Sep 27, 2014 12:46 am Hi Turleys, The roof carpenter has completed the work. Currently intelligent homes is doing the installation. Things looks to be moving as per plan. I was thinking other day that I should have selected colorbond instead of roof tiles. Anyways it is too late Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Building with New Generation @ Heron Park, Harrisdale, WA My Build: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=70662&p=1167117#p1167117 Re: New Generation @ Heron Park, WA - Bricklayer Completed 35Oct 01, 2014 5:03 pm What makes you want to choose Colorbond now? We were actually in the same dilemma back then... Colorbond's reliability vs Tiles looks.. in the end we opted for the looks, and after looking at houses after houses wherever we drove past, we were glad we chose the tiles, especially the Monier Horizon. My first build journey here https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=71028 Re: New Generation @ Heron Park, WA - Bricklayer Completed 36Oct 08, 2014 10:50 pm I was reading the forum on colourbond vs titles on this forum. And it looks that colourbond has certain advantages over tiles - it is light, more durable, remains clean, better finish whereas tiles generally get cracked with time. Anyways roof is now completed for us so we will try colourbond in our second home Building with New Generation @ Heron Park, Harrisdale, WA My Build: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=70662&p=1167117#p1167117 Re: New Generation @ Heron Park, WA - Roof Completed 37Oct 08, 2014 10:56 pm I received an update today that roof is completed I will go on weekend to see how roof is looking. There's a New Gen house with tiles just down the road from us and it seems like that roof is taking forever. I'm hoping they'll start my colourbond any day now. Re: New Generation @ Heron Park, WA - Roof Completed 39Oct 08, 2014 11:32 pm I am waiting to see your colourbond pics. I think we need to start shopping soon. So excited for you! Looking at your time frames, you were very lucky with how quick everything's going for you.. Us not so much.. We signed up white our lands title and then titles got delayed etc..
