Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Anyone building wisdom homes ambassador? 3May 20, 2014 4:58 pm Hi! Wow!! We couldn't afford a 45 hehe are just building a 36 but making alterations so ends up brig about a 40. We are going to build in mulgoa rise. What modifications did u make if any? We are widening the hall way, making a bigger WIR, extending garage and changing the guest bedro sort of. We have our tender this Thursday Re: Anyone building wisdom homes ambassador? 4May 21, 2014 2:42 pm Nice!! We are building at Bingara Gorge. We made a few modifications. We have added the third garage, flipped the front part of the house, added a toilet in laundry and made the study a bedroom with WIR and ensuite. Upstairs we have changed the configuration of the main bedroom to add the balcony and added a study nook which changed bed 4 (think it is). We are waiting on the adjusted plans to come through. Can't wait!! It can't go quick enough! Good duck with it all, hope it goes quick for you! Have you inquired about the air conditioning? I am looking at upgrading it to the ESP Ultima. Not sure what the damage on that would be though! Re: Anyone building wisdom homes ambassador? 6May 24, 2014 1:31 pm The one they offer is pretty standard and is not very cost effective to run. I am upgrading mine to the Actron ESP PLATINUM CRV4-19AS. It is estimated to be around $4000 upgrade but that seems cheap compared to getting it done externally. Re: Anyone building wisdom homes ambassador? 7May 24, 2014 7:28 pm We are building the Trinity 33 but with enough mods to pump it up to nearly 50 squares now. We upgraded the aircon to the ESP Ultima (apparently the standard one wouldn't have coped with the increased area). We also have dark bricks and a dark roof and I hate the heat).
Upgrade of the unit plus 2 additional outlets and 4 additional zones was a $7.3k. Re: Anyone building wisdom homes ambassador? 9May 25, 2014 12:45 am I don't know about it not being any good, but the aircon guy did recommend upgrading it to cope with the bigger area. Would have been ok if we didn't add about 15 squares. Also, the Ultima has a variable motor so it can ramp up/down so you aren't using the full power all the time. Like i said, I'm sick of hot houses and sweating at 11pm so I was determined to get the biggest aircon unit they had. It may not be totally necessary but it'd cost more to upgrade later if it was. Re: Anyone building wisdom homes ambassador? 10Jun 08, 2014 9:12 pm Hi, We are building the Manhattan 52, ending up at about 54 with the additional garage width. We loved the Ambassador but decided to go with the Manhattan as it met nearly all of our wants. We are getting the largest of the air conditioners from the choice package due to the size of the house purchased. I hope it dose the job. The journey begins January 2014, Land purchased (Deposit) February 2014, Met with Wisdom Homes (Colt), We were looking at Wisdom and Eden Brae. Eden Brae had set build months which we did not like. This was a good thing as we really like the Wisdom home quality and designs. February 2014, Decided on a Wisdom home (wife loved the Manhattan 52), We were tossing up between the Ambassador and the Manhattan. Met with Colt again and decided on the Manhattan, party due to the size of the Manhattan and the cost of changes needed to increase the Ambassador to over 50sq. Colt drew up all the adjustments to windows and doors etc. We also added the additional estimated costs of the extras we knew we wanted at the time. May 2014, Signed Wisdom Tender May 2014, Land Registered June 2014, Land Settled We are now working through all the choices we have to make for each of the meetings we go to once the plans come back and we sign build contracts. We are looking forward to seeing what the additional costs will be based on our upgrades at each of the meetings. Re: Anyone building wisdom homes ambassador? 11Jun 11, 2014 10:14 am Hi Guys We are also looking at building the Ambassador 41 at Bingara Gorge. We were originally going to build the Marina with Eden Brae but it needed quite a few floorplan changes to make it feel right for us. When we found the Ambassador on Display out at The Ponds we feel in love and new that it was the house for us. In the Tender, The major items we have included are: - The optional balcony off the Master bedroom but will probably look at getting this done in Half the size. - Third Car Garage with rear roller door - Extend the Alfresco to the rear another 4m ( Double the Size ) - 2.7m ceilings to ground floor - Kitchen upgrades as displayed ( This was more to just get us a MAXIMUM upgrade figure for the kitchen included in the tender ) Now we are just waiting for our Tender Presentation date and we can see where we stand. Any ideas or suggestions from those of you that are also building the Ambassador would be great. Also any price's you guys have been quoted for things would be great if you don't mind sharing? Cheers AJ & Kylie Re: Anyone building wisdom homes ambassador? 12Jun 11, 2014 10:37 am Great to see more people building with WH soon! Re: Anyone building wisdom homes ambassador? 13Jun 12, 2014 12:25 am We are also building the Ambassador 41 in West Pennant Hills. We have made quite a few changes like flipping part of the house, adding an extra 2m width to he garage, extend the Alfresco in both directions and completely redesign the first floor by moving the master bed to the front along with the leisure area with access from both onto a balcony. The bedrooms are now larger with WIR's. We ended up getting 5 tenders and decided on Wisdom based on their inclusions and their honesty. We have already had our tender presentation and made a few changes to that and are now waiting on the working drawings to be made up. For those that have already gone past this point, where to next? How long does it take for drawings and what comes after that. Also what facades are everyone going with? We have gone with an option put to us by our original sales person at The Ponds, which is called the Vogue and adding the balcony. Re: Anyone building wisdom homes ambassador? 14Jun 12, 2014 2:05 pm We would like to do a combination of the Sacremento and the Sovereign but are waiting for our tender presentation to see if this is possible? We are trying to justify getting one of the cheaper facades if it means we can get the rear balcony off the Master Bedroom. Do you have any pictures of the Vogue Facade? Re: Anyone building wisdom homes ambassador? 15Jun 12, 2014 6:43 pm Pfryan We are pretty much at the exact same stage! That's co. I'm waiting for my work drawings. Due 2nd July. Seems like u made quite a few changes. I would be interested in seeing ur plans I was never given a vogue facade option. Would be interested in seeing what it looks like . We are going the designer facade Re: Anyone building wisdom homes ambassador? 16Jun 13, 2014 9:02 am Here is a photo of the Vogue facade. I think it is from their smart series but we have been told it can be adapted to suit our plans. Re: Anyone building wisdom homes ambassador? 17Jun 14, 2014 2:04 pm @nat879 how much was the upgrade for a/c esp ultima plus we upgraded from the standard to esp plus 3.7K. The model was SRA230 but I see on the actron website they only have the SRA233 now. I see the platinum esp ultima is a single phase, I am buidling a modified impression 37 now 44 so need the 3 phase power. @pfryan we are a little bit ahead of you, getting the drawing redrawn hopefully for the last time. timeframe to start is 4 months after contract signing. Re: Anyone building wisdom homes ambassador? 18Jun 24, 2014 10:51 am pfryan Here is a photo of the Vogue facade. I think it is from their smart series but we have been told it can be adapted to suit our plans. That looks really nice, If u don't mind telling, how much are they quoting for the Vogue facade on the ambassador? Re: Anyone building wisdom homes ambassador? 19Jun 24, 2014 11:10 am Quote: That looks really nice, If u don't mind telling, how much are they quoting for the Vogue facade on the ambassador? As it turns out they never got to give us an actual price for the Vogue facade as they needed to work it out with the balcony added to the front. the base Vogue facade from memory was only around the $5k plus balcony so estimated around the $15k+. We have since changed the facade to be similar to the Meridian minus the planter box and the big section of brick work on the left, opening the whole thing up. In the end it will look very similar to the house that is used in the PGH Colour Touch online app. http://colourtouch.com.au/ Re: Anyone building wisdom homes ambassador? 20Jun 24, 2014 7:38 pm We asked the question to WH Regarding the Vogue facade today and we're told that they no longer adapt facades from other series as they don't have master plans for them. Which is a shame as we really liked that Vogue facade. Can someone please offer some advice? Im DESPERATE. Because I'm completely and utterly exhausted.
