Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Anyone building wisdom homes ambassador? 21Jun 28, 2014 5:59 pm Has anybody else been quoted a price for extending the alfresco area? We are a little surprised at how much it costs considering it's just extending the roof and slab. Re: Anyone building wisdom homes ambassador? 22Jul 04, 2014 10:17 pm Hi all. Got our drawings back. Were some errors from Wisdoms end. We are spending something ridiculous like 15k upgrading all doors to those wooden doors like the MJH and they had mucked up a lot of the changes on them. So a note to all: make sure u check every door & window - make sure the heights align and are even throughout as well as measurements all match up. They are quick to admit their wrongs and fix the situation at least so we will see how it pans out. Exciting stage next... Colours I think approx 2 weeks away? Will feel more real then. Just want to get to the stage where it gets approve by council and can get some work underway!!! Re: Anyone building wisdom homes ambassador? 23Jul 04, 2014 11:01 pm Hi Lstr 12 That's great news getting your drawings back. How long has it taken for these to be drawn up? We are still waiting and will be for another few weeks I think. We have a deadline to sign contracts before the 20 Aug as we are off OS and I don't have much confidence we are going to meet it. Re: Anyone building wisdom homes ambassador? 24Jul 04, 2014 11:25 pm Hi pfryan, Expect it to take dead on 5 weeks pretty much to get your drawings. Why do you have a deadline to sign contracts, your not technically locked in until you pay the 5% deposit I think? At the end of the day, I wouldn't feel rushed if I were you, you are giving them near half a million dollars so if they want your business, they will co-operate. Within reason of course Re: Anyone building wisdom homes ambassador? 25Jul 04, 2014 11:31 pm I also don't know why they bother doing a timeline with a ballpark of each stage ie 1-2 weeks, 3-5 weeks, 6-10 weeks. Just freakingg put what it is going to be (the higher side of the scale) this will eliminate us getting our hopes up that we will receive something sooner when really we WONT! Everybody building or planning has already researched or knows your admin is slow. Don't give us false hope! They need to learn the art of "under promise, over deliver" tell us the max and then we will be surprised if it's sooner sorry mad ranttt Re: Anyone building wisdom homes ambassador? 26Jul 04, 2014 11:40 pm I agree totally. I had that discussion with our WE contact last week after they promised a re tender in 48hrs but a week later had still not delivered. We are going overseas for 5 weeks so if we don't have the contract signed before we go we run the risk of not getting to site within the deadline date listed in the tender. Which will cost us. We have most of our selections already decided not including the kitchen so hopefully we can get through that section quickly. Re: Anyone building wisdom homes ambassador? 28Oct 27, 2014 1:36 pm We ended up having to move on from WH as they promised the world and could not deliver. We have since gone with another reputable builder and it has been smooth sailing all the way and have actually caught up the couple of months we wasted with WH. Hope your build is moving along. Re: Anyone building wisdom homes ambassador? 29Oct 27, 2014 1:53 pm Oh really? How annoying! we are in council now however apparently our property may affect sydney water assets so we have to pay some $910 to get some review done to see if the engineers have to review plans and pier deeper Into the ground. Blah blah. Same disappointment. They are yet to produce some good news to me. Re: Anyone building wisdom homes ambassador? 30Feb 02, 2015 3:18 pm Hi all, we are at tender stage and requested tenders from Metricon and Wisdom. We are looking at the Ambassador 41. Just want to hear how you guys find it, who finished and what facades did you go for? I find it a bit weird that most of the facades have a balcony of the secondary bedroom and not the lounge. We are looking at a modified version of the modern facade with balcony as I want the balcony of the lounge but don't like the modern facade. We also made the one ensuite that's shared between the 2rooms a bit bigger as I want a bath (bit difficult for todlers and babies to only have a shower) as result the downstairs bathroom will also be a bit bigger. Also removing the WIR from the guest room and replacing with normal robe. Otherwise no changes to floor plan. Most of what we want is to match things like they have in the display home e.g higher ceilings, square set cornices, drying portico of laundry. We also asked for sound insulation to go between the 2 levels and the walls of the media room. Wanted a 3rd car garage but our lot is only 18m frontage and harrington grove's rules say they don't want the street to be Re: Anyone building wisdom homes ambassador? 32Feb 02, 2015 4:25 pm Hi Carix and welcome We are currently still in the process of building . I actually just received our draft end panel today so be prepared for at least 10 months of admin. Hopefully builders will be on site around 15 days. We went with the designer facade. rendering cost extra so the facade cost is $31K in upgrade. Pretty depressing but my husband was set on it. Good luck with the build & let me know if you have any questions! Re: Anyone building wisdom homes ambassador? 33Feb 03, 2015 9:45 am Hi there, we are looking to build the Ambassador 36 interested to see or hear what people have changed I need a bigger WIR and not sure about the 4th bathroom at this stage so many to clean grrrr. Also, can you half the optional balcony upstairs in the master suite? What facades is everyone choosing they seem to be highly priced.... Thank you for your help in advance, love that there is a forum about this sort of thing so handy Re: Anyone building wisdom homes ambassador? 34Feb 03, 2015 2:23 pm Hi alexj Congrats. We are building ambassador 36 with mods too! The things we changed were - close off one wall in the master bedroom to make the WIR bigger - widened the hallway by 1.2m to allow for a bigger entrance We chose the designer facade. Cost is $25k + 6k for tender. All very pricey if you want somethingn decent. We dealt with colt at the ponds and he is excellent so make sure u ask him lots of questions Re: Anyone building wisdom homes ambassador? 38Feb 04, 2015 8:42 am Hi Lstr123, Thank you for your reply. Which wall are you closing off in the master suite to make the WIR bigger? Also are you having the balcony off the master suite? What r ur thoughts on 4 bathrooms?? Re: Anyone building wisdom homes ambassador? 39Feb 04, 2015 8:51 am Hi alexj. We are closing off the wall closest to the entrance of the room. The other side will be open so you can walk straight from the bathroom out to the walk in robe. Didn't get the balcony off the master suite. We have young kids and don't have time to scratch ourselves let alone enjoy another balcony lol. We personally just wouldn't use it so didn't bother but it is very nice. We rather spend the money on onside the house that people could see and we would appreciate everyday. We got the 4 bathrooms as made downstairs a full bathroom with shower also. We occasionally have my family come from overseas once a year so the shower and room downstairs can be dedicated to them. Also we thought if we did get a pool down the track, you wouldn't want people going to have to use an upstairs bathroom in a room. To us realistically it is only 1 extra bathroom to have to clean. The shares bathroom will be for our 2 boys and the other room is a spare for now so the bathroom wouldn't be used anyway. Hope that helps! Can someone please offer some advice? Im DESPERATE. Because I'm completely and utterly exhausted. How long are variations taking with other companies at the moment? We… 0 11933 In fairness nobody gave a crap about the ACCC and the gag clauses continued in the pro forma templates of a few other builders after the ACCC took on Wisdom, and more… 20 57362 Hi Everyone, I am exploring builder in NSW and received a very tempting quote from Wisdom home for their momentum series. I just want to know experience of building… 0 3514 |
