Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Anyone building wisdom homes ambassador? 81Jun 30, 2015 2:31 pm Is anyone else having issues with Homeone saying you aren't logged in everytime you to post. So annoying! homeone is so frustrating to use. am99 - for the 5th attempt lol =/ I am building the ambassador 36 with modifications - widening of entry/foyer, widening of garage and larger WIR. no major structural changes. With regards to the vanity, are you referring to the Jack and Jill ensuite? if so, my timpelle plans say the vanity is 650mm. Hubby measured it and its 630. It may be 650 once the benchtop goes on. Its definitely not 800 though. Hope this was one you were referring to? In terms of toothbrushes. I suppose that will have to go in the cupboard below? Re: Anyone building wisdom homes ambassador? 82Jun 30, 2015 2:36 pm Haha. Yes lstr, that's what I was referring to. So I guess there's no changing it. I just think that wisdom should amend their standard plans from the start so they are providing the correct information rather than having to tell customers that they have to make the vanities smaller to suit their own requirements. It all seems so silly. Anyway, thank you so much for coming back to let me know. Hope home one improves. It must be frustrating. Oh and best of luck with PCI. Re: Anyone building wisdom homes ambassador? 83Oct 12, 2015 1:08 pm Hi Greg, how's it all going? What stage are you at in the process? I remember you were going really quick so wouldn't be surprised if you've outpaced me! We are getting our piering and slab done in the next week or so. Just to recap, we bought our land back in October 2014 and had our first tender meeting in early December 2014. So I wouldn't say that our process has been a piece of cake. Re: Anyone building wisdom homes ambassador? 85Oct 12, 2015 1:12 pm And Carix, how are you going? You had issues last time we heard from you, has it all been resolved yet? It's been pretty quiet on this forum so I thought I'd find out where everyone is at. Re: Anyone building wisdom homes ambassador? 86Oct 13, 2015 8:39 am Hi am99, We signed off on our draft end panel a week ago so are just waiting on the final end panel and then im not sure how long it takes from there till fences go up. Overall we have had a couple of hiccups but to Wisdom's credit, they were able to rectify things quickly. So our first interaction with Wisdom through their salesperson took place on the Easter Weekend in April so the process has been quick (although as usual i was thinking it would be quicker, we thought we might have had the slab down by now). On the Ambassador 36, i believe there is going to be one up and running early in 2016 in Stockland Elara Marsden Park and i think that will be a display home for a short period of time. I think the other one will be built in Willowdale but in the meantime they are keeping the display home at the Ponds open for longer. Re: Anyone building wisdom homes ambassador? 87Oct 14, 2015 2:04 pm Hi, yes decided to stay away from the forums as I will only complain about Wisdom's slowness.... Finally got the draft end panel on 8Oct. (Nice heart attack with too lol! ) we hope to have the final end panel with construction plans and payment schedule towards the end of next week. It's scary to think we accepted the tender almost a year ago! If we went according to the printed timeline they gave us at the display homes we were supposed to have moved in already! Luckily we played it safe and paid the extra to lock in our prices. In April we were told there's no reason we can't start building by Aug... Yeah right.... Re: Anyone building wisdom homes ambassador? 88Oct 15, 2015 5:30 pm Haha thanks Greg and Carix, Carix I totally hear you. I haven't been on in a while but luckily we got some progress. After a horrid time in admin we finally got our fence mid sep, land scraped end of September and piering just started. Final end panel was early sep so I have to say that the construction phase has been pretty good. But then again I'm just cynical because all that wait time in admin has made me expect less from this company. Haha. Good luck with your end panel Greg and hope to get your site started soon Carix. And thanks Greg for the info on the display home. Re: Anyone building wisdom homes ambassador? 89Jan 25, 2016 6:26 pm Hi everyone, I am a newbie here, made the initial deposit last weekend for package deal (land plus Washington 32 design). However, we are still deciding if we go for package deal or buy land and build later the Washington 32. We need your help, with the Washington base price, how much percentage did you guys add up to get to the total tender price (assuming without the upgrade)? The deal we got now is additional 35% of the Washington 32 design base price (turnkey package and fixed price), basically the tender price is the same. Do you think 35% is too much? If I build, do you think it will be around 20%? We really appreciate your help. It is more active than this one. This forum seems to be mainly for those building the ambassador and there aren't to many of us Re: Anyone building wisdom homes ambassador? 91Jan 25, 2016 7:28 pm Thanks, Cariz. Can I ask some question, do you think the additional 35% on the house design base price is fair for a turnkey package? Assuming no upgrade. I've been offline for ages now, it's been a busy 6 months personally as well as building! How is everyone travelling? To update on where we are at, site prep started mid sep last year and now we are almost at lockup, we should be getting our stairs soon and gyprock has been done (it was so quick putting it all up, took 2 days I believe)! Haven't been given a completion date yet but I'm hoping within 2 months no more but we'll see. In total, say 8 months minus Christmas so 7 months? It's getting so exciting seeing the house with walls now, picturing the room sizes etc. We really want to see the display so we can get an idea of interior styling as well. The construction phase has been excellent I must say. Totally different to admin, it's like they are a different company. If you weren't happy with admin, you should be fine in construction, as long as you have a good site supervisor as well of course hope all is well otherwise! Re: Anyone building wisdom homes ambassador? 94Mar 13, 2016 8:50 am Hi! Our site was cleared and levelled last week it's been such a long process and so glad to see the construction phase are better. We signed our tender in Aug 2014 and the contract on 2 Nov 2014! Since then it's been painfully slow. We had a broker not pulling his weight which wasted 2 months. Hopefully it will all go quick now. We are getting the site supervisor who just finished up at the display home Re: Anyone building wisdom homes ambassador? 95Sep 02, 2016 10:44 pm Lstr123 Hi all. Got our drawings back. Were some errors from Wisdoms end. We are spending something ridiculous like 15k upgrading all doors to those wooden doors like the MJH and they had mucked up a lot of the changes on them. So a note to all: make sure u check every door & window - make sure the heights align and are even throughout as well as measurements all match up. They are quick to admit their wrongs and fix the situation at least so we will see how it pans out. Exciting stage next... Colours I think approx 2 weeks away? Will feel more real then. Just want to get to the stage where it gets approve by council and can get some work underway!!! Hi am building with wisdom homes ambassador 36 designer facade..if you don't mind can I ask you the colour choices you made for facade, exterior..I find it difficult to pick Re: Anyone building wisdom homes ambassador? 96Sep 02, 2016 11:56 pm js_newbie Lstr123 Hi all. Hi am building with wisdom homes ambassador 36 designer facade..if you don't mind can I ask you the colour choices you made for facade, exterior..I find it difficult to pick Hi Js_newbie, I suggest you find a house with the same facade (the sales office should be able to tell you) and then when you find one you like the colour scheme of, ask for their colour selection sheet (which head office may be able to give you). This is what I did and it cut out all time wasting. There is an absolute plethora of colours out there and it's very hard to match them so if you see one you like then just copy it. Hope that helps Re: Anyone building wisdom homes ambassador? 97Oct 19, 2016 6:48 pm Hello All, hope some of you will reply Initially I was thinking of a single storey, but now have decided to go with a double and Ambassador design is very impressive. We will be choosing the 36. Have put down the initial deposit on 23rd Sept 2016 waiting for tender. Any general feedback? Have any of you moved in yet? Any design changes that you suggest? Would be great to get some feedback. Thanks in advance. Re: Anyone building wisdom homes ambassador? 98May 22, 2017 4:42 pm We are interested in Ambassador 45 and get first tender already. But we hope to get some window more bigger or some small change. Could any guys give us some suggestion or point we need to look after? Thanks in advance Can someone please offer some advice?
