Hi MichnChris, I think we have chatted before. We are progressing well and now preparing to lodge plans to council with Elmwood Homes. We are in Rosemont Ct (lot 929) and its the only one that has been mowed in the release. Very happy with the builders to date. How are you progressing? Stage 9b Seacrest, Flinders. Good to hear that things are going smoothly for u we are lot 812.. On the high side of Elizabeth cct, next door to the white/blue coloured house that is already built. For us things are kinda going nowhere ATM , very frustrating actually. Paid our deposit to mac jones on March 12, had a prelim colour selection and then nothing. Yet to receive our final contract, yet to get any correspondence back even though we have since been in twice and emailed and called numerous times with the promise of "it's all coming soon"... Joys of building I guess haha but I'm sure once we get over this patch all will be good seacrest is going up so fast though! It was still pretty much a paddock when we bought now it's crazy! Re: Seacrest, Flinders NSW 4Apr 24, 2014 9:48 pm Yeah thats right I drive past and keep looking for survey pegs on your block. Have your plans been submitted to council yet? We are in colour selection mode also and our plans are being prepared for council submission. I mowed our block on the weekend and sure enough, the mowing contractor was onsite today cleaning up the blocks in our stage. Elmwood have been awesome and we are struggling to keep up with them. Looking fwd to knowing the plans are in council. Good luck with your progress, keep me updated. Paul. Stage 9b Seacrest, Flinders. We are looking at a Clarendon home but to alter it in any way is big $$ especially the facade. I have heard good things about Elmwood but wonder how they stack up against project home builders for cost, I always assumed they would be much more expensive. Hi Minda, They are quite comparative but a little more expensive. We provided them with a design brief and let them design the house to suit. Variations have been priced and very fair. Standard inclusions far exceed those of other project home builders. Check out my blog for some of the variations and costs we have applied. They are very efficient and quick with turning around concept drawings, prices etc. We are sooooooo glad we didn't go with a big project builder and I know the quality I am going to get in the home will be excellent. Do yourself a favour and contact Elmwood Homes. There is a link to their website from my blog. Good luck, Im keen to hear how you go. Paul. Stage 9b Seacrest, Flinders. Where abouts is your block? MinDa, our lot number is 929. It is on Rosemont Circuit and it faces west, overlooking the new park currently under construction. In speaking with Glenn a little while ago, he said the last release sold in half an hour. You'll have to be quick as there isn't many lots left in the estate development. Good luck, keep us posted. Hi Michnchris, any movement on the building front. Your street has gone crazy with the hive of activity. Paul Re: Seacrest, Flinders NSW 14Jul 31, 2014 7:48 pm MinDa Hi Paul, not sure if you are still checking this thread, was wondering how big the fall is on your block? Where site costs alot to split slab? Thanks in advance. Hi Minda, The builder included the site costs in our tender but made provisional allowances for 1. Piering 2. Removal of spoil 3. Removal of rock & 4. Bush fire rating. Our frame is now up and brickwork in progress and all provisional allowances have been accounted for and fortunately we are about $3K in credit. The biggest cost was removal of spoil (about $6K) for our block. We have a 1200mm split and the fall on the block is about 2 - 2.5m across the building platform. The soil was classified as H2. So far we have been uber-impressed with our builder and soooooooo glad we didn't progress with a large project home builder. Our blog is up to date if you haven't seen it lately. Are you still looking at Seacrest. It looks like the final blocks are almost ready to go and a block 3 doors up has just come on the market but it's over-priced in my opinion. We are looking at a block in Kiama that won't settle until towards end of next year but has to be bought now. The building envelope is 2 metre fall as well, we have had many people telling us how fantastic Elmwood is. Have checked out your blog and your house is going up so quickly! Love the floorplan. We have plenty of time to sort the house but was a bit scared about site costs for a split slab. Re: Seacrest, Flinders NSW 16Jul 31, 2014 8:10 pm MinDa Thanks Paul for the info. Just saw this thread come up again- ur house is looking great, unbelievable how quickly it is going up. Just quietly I'm very jealous! It's looking like we will be on the construction list tomorrow/early next week, finally! It has been a long wait. Crazy how quickly things are happening in sea crest at the moment. Crazy how quickly things are happening in sea crest at the moment. Oh that's great news. I call in every arvo to check on progress and only this arvo drove past your block to see if I could notice any pegs so really happy to hear that your build is imminent. You're right our build is going well (and fast!) however the brickwork is slow going (almost halfway after a week) but the brickies are doing a great job so I'm not complaining. I'm looking forward to seeing the texturecoat go on to the bricks and with the roof to see if our colours all tie together. Hey, be sure to drop by if you notice my car there and say hi!
