Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Seacrest, Flinders NSW 21Sep 03, 2014 11:01 pm Hi Paul - yes it's definitely great to have finally started, although it has been a bit of an anti-climax. Excavation actually commenced almost 3 weeks ago now, and then we ended up with this horrendous weather which has meant that they haven't been able to access the site to remove the rock that's been dug out. We were actually up there last weekend with a pump and buckets, pumping and baling water for 4 hours straight. Little good it did though, as it rained again! And Thanks to the most recent round of downpours, it's unlikely they will be on there again until next week. We couldn't believe it, after 6 months of perfect construction weather literally the day after we commenced the awful weather arrived. But as I am quickly learning with the building process, it will all happen with time. Hope ur build wasn't to delayed by recent cyclonic conditions ha! Re: Seacrest, Flinders NSW 22Sep 18, 2014 10:49 pm I'm sure there are lots of people out there experiencing the same issues with the weather. It has been almost 5 weeks since the fascia and gutters were installed and our build has not progressed since. All we needed was a roof and this weather would not have stopped progress....however it did. Good news this week as the roofer is now on site and I'm hoping to see the roof sheets installed tomorrow. I saw the excavator has started again this week for you so that great news too...Paul Stage 9b Seacrest, Flinders.
