Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Apr 08, 2014 5:36 pm Hello to all. Hopefully some one can help us with our questions. We are based in Christchurch New Zealand and have recently had our house demoed due to the Christchurch quake 3 years ago. We are working through a design for a new house. We have consent and plans for a house on a block ring foundation with concrete reinforced floors. We are in what they call is a toe slump area and have guidelines now released to meet. Our builder and architect are telling us that we can't have a concrete floor and they say we are going to have the house build on poles and Scyon Secura Exterior Flooring? Has any one got comments on this? The details say flooring in and out but in our case they want to put it in for the garage floor? Should I be concerned? Other changes from a block ring foundation is below....? Foundations - timber poles to be code compliant with toe slip. Plastered foundation walls - Rockcote plaster over Graphex board. Concrete floor "feel" - cement panel boards (Hardies Secura) fixed to over sized floor joists Basement floor - decorative concrete slab - same as before as this is not a structural requirement. Basement walls (internal) - Hardiflex cement panels fixed to timber frame Driveway - concrete as before Exterior walls to house - Rockcote plaster over Graphex board. (same plaster system that goes of the Integra panel) Thoughts? Hi, Currently building, we are on a sloping block so we have from floor level to the roof in axon cladding.
