Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Oct 02, 2014 5:18 pm Well to save myself posting all my pessimistic feelings on other people's threads I've created this... Where we can all let a bit of steam out! My rant is that we are going into the ninth month of building my house, we aren't yet half way through and it's not yet finished! It's not even two story and I haven't even upgraded anything! I'm getting insanely jealous of reading people who started their build after mine and are already in! Jealous in a "really happy, I wish I chose your builder" way. Haha! There's really no excuses for the delays in my build... I never would have thought I'd be seriously looking at not being in at Christmas time when I started building in January! Your turn? Support group, people! Sometimes building really just doesn't go to plan! Support group, people! Sometimes building really just doesn't go to plan! We started the process with our builder back in april. Some 6 months down the track and we havent even chosen our colour selections, nor have developer/cdc approval to build the house yet! I'd say its going to be feb/march before soil is turned. Re: Building Rants 4Oct 08, 2014 10:31 pm Good idea N3ll3, and have a look at youtube Pachabel rant original when you get a moment, Delays are frustrating yes, but look at what happened to Isaacs (vs VERO) after their builder went bankrupt leaving them with heaps of things defective (over $50 000 worth). The Isaacs had to pay the costs because the builder was frivolous (wasted court time) and so the costs were not 'reasonable'... some policy and standard folks.... same as yours... grrr Leonardo_23 Re: Building Rants 7Nov 22, 2014 10:45 pm On behalf of a friend of mine, My (friend's) waffle pod slab floored house is over 90mm out-of-level and the sewer separated. And there was no stormwater connection. The bathroom wall adjacent the shower opened up 15mm at the floor the other day, and 2 new 3 metre long cracks opened up in the plasterwork in the Living Rooms. What a pile of **** the soil report recommendations were!!!, Cheers Leonardo_23 Re: Building Rants 9Nov 23, 2014 11:47 am Leonardo_23 On behalf of a friend of mine, My (friend's) waffle pod slab floored house is over 90mm out-of-level and the sewer separated.
